  • I bought a no name brand battery for my laptop once off of ebay. Had zero problems with it. The battery life was like 1 year instead of 2 or something but otherwise it performed the same. Just make sure you pick a reputable seller or something with a lot of positive ratings.

  • Not sure what is pissing you off. If it's like most people right now it would be best to cold turkey social media and news. I was getting incredibly depressed by it so I quit it and I just stick my head in like once every couple of weeks, like today.

Exercise. Getting out of the house. Get reconnected and grounded. Get back to living in the moment. Remember to be grateful everyday for something. I know it sounds stupid when everything is burning down but just do it and see the results.

Check out self help books at the library for your conditions. I know when I couldn't afford therapy or went a long way to getting mentally well is life time journey for many if not most.

And cold turkey any kind of meds for mental disorders is a scary thing. You're an adult, you made that choice. You can always talk to your doctor about alternatives but I imagine you're going cold turkey for reasons. Just be kind to yourself while you're going through this transition. Know that this isn't how you or things will always be. Be patient with yourself and take it one day at a time. Things will get better. You won't always be angry at things. Question why you're getting angry at things and ask yourself things like should you change your expectations.

  • I just wanted to add that a reverse osmosis system would bypass the lead and I think everything else there in your drinking water. If you are going to have kids in the house then you need to fix the lead issue because especially little ones will drink the bath water.

But yes, knowing why you have that much lead in your water and the source is important. It could be lead pipes or soldering. From my own research I found that, especially if it is an older well, if there is a lead packer installed down in the well then you'll have to get it lined at some point to stop the problem.

  • Check locally and state websites. You should be able to find some local labs if you want something this detailed otherwise if you want to spend less with less precise results you can look for well water test strips online that will test for like 15 different things. It will not test for bacteria or PFAs. Those are separate tests.

  • The breathing and of course talking to a therapist. Someone else said basically exercise or walking, most definitely! Aside from that I know this past month has been hell for me because of politics and the cold weather. You might be in the same boat. Limit your access to need and social media. Using a SAD lamp may help.

Also learn or do something new. I recently picked up sewing and went balls deep into learning about how to actually do it properly and creating projects. In the past I've also done things like picked up books on a new subject, delved into a new hobby, and one year I just decided to do puzzles. What it's done for me is gave me something to focus on and keeps my mind occupied. It's also gave me the satisfaction of learning something new which I guess makes me feel accomplished or something. And sometimes it gives me time to actively work on something and think about what I'm doing while somehow allowing me to sort shit out in the back of my head. I don't know how else to explain it but it's done wonders for my mental health and I just figured I would share in case it resonates with you.

I know it's rough, but you'll get through this!

  • Is this is for work, you might want to look up "capsule wardrobe." This gives you wardrobe to mix and match that looks like you have bunch of clothes when you don't. You really don't need to keep up with main stream fashion. Any pressure to do so is just societal pressure and you don't have to align with it.

  • I buy cables that have a braided wrap around them if I buy them at all. I've had so many come with phones and other crap. The only reason why I've bought a couple of others is because I needed some long ones.

  • Having a kid has helped me learn and realize so much about myself and my life that I wouldn't have been able to learn otherwise. The same can be said about many of my other major life experiences. Sometimes I miss being alone and being able to do whatever the fuck I want, but I realize I'm still learning how to balance my life and seeing my child every day makes me happy (even if she is going through a hellion phase).

  • No tips on catching live bugs, but if you're in a apartment situation it's possible roaches can come from neighboring apartments. (they can even swim up pipes into your sink apparently). I had an apartment where I did the same and I still had issues. I looked under my sink and saw a big hole around where the pipe went into the wall. I bought some foaming insulation and filled in that gap. After a couple days I never saw the fuckers again. So check for any avenues where they can be traveling between units.

  • I don't really know why. Since I was a kid it feels like there is so much more hate, so much more Red vs Blue. It feels like everyone assumes if you are republican or democrat that you must be far right or left. Gods forbid there are moderates. Gods forbid you care about your neighbor regardless of political or religious belief or the choices they make.

It feels like "fuck you I'm taking my share and screwing you over" in order to make it in this capitalist society. It feels like philanthropy is a joke, that rich people don't invest in it unless it's a tax break. It's funny we don't see new buildings built with art or frills outside. It's just cold, monolithic type buildings which are as cold as the assholes running it inside. Very few companies care about their customers or employees. They just want those quick profits for the quarter. Fuck everyone else as long as they get their share. They expect this profits to go on forever but they don't realize that it has to end sometime and I hope every one of those companies collapse because of how hollow they've become. I know these are weird things to focus on but I feel like they are symptoms of bigger problems. It shows what is becoming a primary value in society which is MONEY MONEY MONEY instead things like ethics or looking at the bigger picture.

And fuck all these politicians who are busy lining their pockets with gold. Gods forbid they act like civil servants or at least vote on what is best for the people. There are industries that will get you fined and imprisoned if you commit fraud or the APPEARANCE THERE OF. Politicians should have similar laws slapped on them. Same goes for the Supreme Court which has become a fucking joke.

I'm sure there's a lot of little reasons that add up to this shit. I'm sure politicians stomping on education has a lot to do with it. It feels like critical thinking is not a basic skill anymore. Sure we can blame ourselves a little, but is it really all our fault?

And Jesus christ this brain dead social media crap where people just shit all over the internet and post comments or videos full of lies or contraversial crap just to get clicks because of either bullshit popularity or once again MONEY MONEY MONEY.

I do what I can to tolerate and not create this division of the country and to do what I can locally in the political landscape but I feel powerless to make any real change. That powerlessness is frustrating and infuriating. So yeah, when I see one asshole Ceo get taken out I feel a little glee and I hope it sends a message. I don't wish ill will upon others, but I'm not going to not say "he had that coming." I don't know if that is what others in my country feel but that's how I feel.

  • Keep trying! It'll get easier. I remember having similar issues. There was so much I wanted but I could barely afford the essentials on minimum wage. I still bought dumb shit and some of it I was glad I said fuck it and bought. But coming up with "qualifying questions" and sticking to them helped. And the more I said no to purchases, the easier it got. The number one question I would ask myself before I bought something is "will I actually use it?"

Also consider places like thrift stores for household stuff at a cheaper price. Yard sales are also good but try to catch them on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. And make a list of things you need. Then that way if you see a good sale or see something at the thrift store you can say "This is on my list of things I need/want, yes I can buy this."

Another thing you can do when online shopping, especially if it's over like 20$ or something (you set that limit), is put it in your "cart" and wait 24 hours. That will stop impulse buys. If you see something at the store, tell yourself that you'll sleep on it and if you really want it you'll come back tomorrow and get it.

I'm sure there are more/better tactics but these are what helped me. But yes, the way things are structured in our society everything is seeking to convince us we need all this shit by hyping it up or putting it on fake sales or and using tons of other psychology tactics to get us to buy. Try your best to ignore the hypes and commercials and delay before buying. By delaying it gives you a chance to get away from those tactics, look at the product again when those tactics are not immediately pressing, and it helps you make an objective decision. It's hard at first but it gets easier each time you do it.

    My hero

Probably not the first time this has made it's rounds but this was the first time I've seen this story.

Something had to hatch the chicken so the chicken or something chicken-like came before the egg.

Destiny 2 was barely playable at all yesterday after weekly reset, thanks to a number of error codes being spat at players during login or travel. By evening, I couldn’t play at all, loading into empty activities that would promptly kick me out after a minute or two.

Bungie has now confirmed that these instability issues have nothing to do with the recent weapon superbug that they are in the middle of fixing, where some perks have been disabled as they press toward a larger solution. Bungie has in fact revealed these current attacks on Destiny 2 are the result of outside DDoSing. Here’s what the BungieHelp account said late yesterday:

"Over the past couple of days, we've seen a spike in error codes and disconnects. The team has confirmed that these error codes are not related to the planned fixes rolling out for the recent crafting issue and are instead a result of DDoS attacks. While we typically don't confirm…"

In the tweet, Bungie says that this has happened before, but normally
