What would happen if I put sandpaper in my printer?
  • Please, have mercy, I'm the guy that has to come fix that shit haha.

I'll most likely be told they were printing standard stuff and it just happened

He blew the whistle on Amazon. He's still paying the price
  • Could be a good read but I'll never know as I'm not subscribing to the financial times

Edit: didn't realise the discussion link included an archive link to the article. My mistake 😅

Check out our new "KDE for Gamers" guide.
  • I feel like this is a dumb question but I just want to be sure. I'm assuming this is a general guide for pc that includes steam deck. Is that right?

  • Hi all,

As above I'm struggling to get my home server running Manjaro to be accessible outside my network. I've never messed with domains before but I do have a working knowledge of home networking.

I also have, what most would probably consider, basic working knowledge of Linux. I can work my way around the terminal and follow instructions on things given they aren't using assumptions that the reader is a knowledgeable power user of Linux.

From what I've read I need to add a reverse DNS via something like nginx and setup my Google domain to point to my external IP. Sounds simple enough but I cannot for the life of me configure nginx properly and I'm not even sure I have my Google domain setup correctly outside of payin for the domain name.

What I'd like to achieve is have my home server files be accessible from anywhere and also have jellyfin/sonarr/radarr accessible from anywhere if possible. I'm currently using Plex but that has a plethora of its own issues so would like to try something new.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially if provided in an "OP dumb dumb" format!

I'm currently at work at the time of writing so replies may be slow

What's going on between Linus Media Group and Gamers Nexus?
  • If you watch the first 15-20 seconds of GN's first video on this, the clip of the guy in the tour literally calls out GamersNexus and Hardware Unboxed

Edit: "The difference between us and, similarly, GamersNexus and HardwareUnboxed, is we test new components, new tests, everytime"

How does everyone feel about Google Pixel phones?
  • There was on mine at least. It would overheat if on an extended video call and shut down all running apps until it was cool again. Sent it off to Samsung who replaced the main board (which I assume is the one that has the CPU ram and GPU attached) but the issues still persisted. My S22 ultra performed worse that my Note 10+ 5G.

To say I was disappointed in the performance is a drastic understatement considering the price of the phone

How does everyone feel about Google Pixel phones?
  • I swapped to a Pixel 7 Pro from a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra after having serious stutter and performance issues with my S22.so far I've loved it and it's performed so much better than the S22 I had.

I do miss the customisation Samsung had with Good Lock modules though. Maybe I'll have to look into rooting my phone unless I can find a no root alternative.

Long story short it's been around 6 months and I'm still very happy with it.

    Endeavour OS looking sexy
  • That would be my plan, I have windows on its own 500gb drive and 2 1tb drives for gaming. My plan would be partition on the gaming drives as they just house the game files.

How much would you recommend allocating to EOS? I'm very much green around the ears when it comes to Linux, I've dabbled and have a home server running Manjaro and fumbled my way through that somehow!

If all goes well I'd like to daily drive it and only use Windows for games I can't get running on EOS

  • This looks beautiful. Been tempted to set up a dual boot myself with Windows 11. How was it to get everything working?
