A reminder before election day
  • LOL I don't even remember who Trump's VP was.

edit: oh yeah, Pence - who finally grew a pair after Bonespurs exhorted an unruly crowd to go get him.

do you think lemmy will ever be popular?
  • It's popular enough for me already. I kind of hope it doesn't become the online site because that will just attract trolls.

I've also been using Trust Café (aka WT.Social) but I like the Lemmy UI a lot better.

Touchscreens Are Out, and Tactile Controls Are Back
  • I think we'll see multipurpose function buttons under the display, that change function programmatically depending on what the app is doing.

    Hopefully the results of tomorrow
  • That's what I'm hoping for. Remember, it's normal for Repubs to take an early lead because so many of them live in wide open spaces, where counties have such low populations they finish their vote counts very quickly. Democratic votes from larger urban areas come in later. So if there is no such "red mirage" and Kamala takes an early lead, you can start celebrating because this will mean an almost certain win for her.

Please Advise! Is the Bad Man Going to Win?
  • No. He's going to pretend to win and hope that his minions start a revolution for him, but they won't, and as in 2020 he will lose. Then he'll spend the rest of his pathetic-ass life in court.

Trump Files Lawsuit Against Georgia Elections Before the Election
  • The lawsuits are just props, along with declaring victory early in the evening, to make his whole stolen election story more convincing to his flock, who he expects to fight and die for him.

  • Not sure how I got to lemmy.one but when it said I had to login to comment on something, my userid/pwd that works here didn't work and the registration link said user registration is closed. Aren't lemmy logins supposed to work across the whole federation? Or are there multiple federations and lemmy.one is entirely different? Maybe I misunderstand the whole scheme of lemmy.

edit: Okay, after a little experimentation I think I get it. On the domain lemmy.world, when logged in, if I look at a thread I see the comment box, but if I go to lemmy.one and find the same thread it says I must login to comment. With the explanations everybody gave here, this makes sense now. So thank you very much, I appreciate the help!
