What I saw a lot of on Lemmy was democrat supporters and voters insisting that people will just hold their nose and vote for Harris and accusing anybody angry about the ongoing genocide of either supporting Trump or playing into the hands of Russia.

Any statement posted on Lemmy is directed at the voters, not the leadership, and assuming otherwise is arguing in bad faith.

Did I do that? Very confused.

The voters had the opportunity to stop Trump. They didn't.

Ah yes, it's all the voters' fault.

If only the DNC had any power at all in this situation or ability to influence the actions of voters...

Both contributed to the loss. Which is more to blame? There's a discussion to be had there but imo the overall electoral strategy is a much bigger issue than a handful of stupid people who didn't vote or voted Trump over this one particular issue

It's really funny how all this denial is focused on the existence of a concrete "list." What everybody means, and what anyone honest knows, is that the request is for the release of a list of the people who went to the Epstein island and were associated with the convicted child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell and Epstein himself.

If you can convict Maxwell, there is evidence of what happened. Whether or not someone has already written a list is completely irrelevant.

There are exactly two types of people who would deny this:

I would absolutely not travel to America while Trump is in power. I've wanted to visit again since his first term, but fuck the extra border hassle (+ now the risk of getting sent to gitmo or El Salvador or god knows where for criticizing dear leader) and also fuck supporting an economy he will take credit for.

I feel bad for all the businesses who did nothing wrong. But we live in capitalism and I can't vote/protest there so 🤷‍♂️

If someone broke into your home and destroyed all the food, and blockaded you from leaving or anything from getting in, wouldn't it be obvious they were trying to kill you?
