There are Minimum Wages, Why Not a Maximum Wage?
  • I have to repeat my response here, that is meaningless, when their taxable income is meaningless. How much did Trump pay in taxes again? The trick is to keep it tied up in an "investment" until they need it.

  • So a hairdryer?

Obvious response: "Haha, it doesn't get that hot!"

And you know because they told you up to how much it remains effective.

  • The problem is that they have enough independence to just cross borders and easily pay for new citizenship if it suits them. It would have to be a world wide movement. It's impossible, or at least would only be possible within some mythical completely self-sufficient country that could withstand their meddling.

Bernie Sanders: Vote Harris because Gaza is ‘not the only issue’
  • No, no, no, you see, you should see Gaza as the only issue and ignore all the other issues because <insert word salad here>. Awaiting check, komrade.

The tactic is just about the same as the MAGA side, try to get people emotionally involved without thinking and lock them into a state so emotionally charged they are unwilling to back down.

    Sisyphus
  • Prometheus.

The Romans/Greek gods were as shitty as gods usually are. Sisyphus wasn't so much punished for his crimes as he was for being a smartass to the gods. Sisyphus literally stopped everyone on Earth from dying, and because Ares the God of War complained that wars were no longer fun because no one died, it was undone. The claim that Sysiphus suffered his punishment because of how he toyed with people's lives is gaslighting, the gods did that all the time. Sysiphus' biggest crime was not being another god.

We do not share his punishment thankfully because gods are fiction. Unfortunately, there's no shortage of Sysiphuses or enemies of Sysiphuses with the same or more power that would either act the same or worse.

You reap what you sow, and that lack of worker rights and education along with the promotion and celebration of extreme competition is showing. Not that it isn't costly, a good education doesn't even seem to last a generation nowadays.

  • To think, all they had to do was appeal to the lurking bigotry within societies to bring them out and normalize that sort of language. They are sort of screwed if they think they aren't sliding into a world where the evangelicals being radicalized and increasingly in control of the nation financing and supplying it will come asking for their pound of flesh when the shift into a theocratically-narrative-driven oligarchy is established, and then take the whole body.

It's also funny that rather than removing all of my comments, they just decided to remove those I referenced and one particular reply, meaning whoever they were they cared more about the narrative and making the conversation unintelligible so that in the framing that was left people could just fill in the gaps just based on the downvotes and the accusations.

Like I said to some people and now extend to the mod,

    > I love how people like you are the flip side equal of Trump people warping reality to shit on it. Same bullshit, both sides aren't equal but people like you certainly resemble them closer.

ITT, people who couldn't comprehend cult psychology (and given the inherent Stanford prison experiment abuse within it, any psychology) or even the inevitable conclusion of what they are claiming and accuse me for being ignorant of what I'm literally alluding to in the first comment.

Even supposing that there was some legitimacy to the removals, it's telling how selective it was and where it wasn't. And literally labeling nuance "trolling" in a circlejerk meme reddit ... probably makes sense. But still, imagine being so fragile the huge number of downvotes could not do it for you.

Some of you really want to divide society as much as MAGA does. My message didn't neatly fit into the circlejerk meme, so I guess I must be "trolling, or worse" - amazing.

    ----

I can also confirm, can't delete or edit the comments to provide context, but people can still vote on comments that have been removed. Huh, didn't think I'd find something like this reddit was so clearly better at. So now I guess I know why they decided to selectively remove comments and framed the thread into what has been left.
