  • "it was just a prank"

  • You and me both then

  • Yeah, I guess it must be instance dependent to view it. And even then, it's also probably limited by what posts/comments are visible to the viewer based on federation.

  • Omg, thanks! I noticed that it had hit a million recently, and I was thinking about writing up a post to commemorate it and maybe share some thoughts about my experience posting like a madman on the fediverse for 6-7 months so far. If I do, it'll probably be on the c/fediverse community, unless anyone can think of a more fitting one.

I'm also surprised it's still visible! My instance upgraded to 0.19 recently, which supposedly takes away the upvote count from your profile view. I was secretly hoping to make it to one million before the upgrade happened... Lol

(Edit: also glad to hear you got into TNG!)

  • Exactly! And don't get me wrong, there are a ton of great indie 2d games out there now, but back in the SNES days, these were THE devs. You can tell the difference in polish from having been made by the biggest and best studios.

  • (disclaimer: I didn't make this meme, but I do share the sentiment of rapidly losing focus/mental energy when gaming now.)

Favorite of all time? The SNES. It felt like the peak of 2d graphics before the slate got wiped clean for 3d, so we saw a ton of great games from devs that had been playing/creating 2d games for decades.

Favorite currently? PC. I have a switch, steam deck, and PS5 as well, but 99% of my playtime is on PC.

  • You're right, we should be cutting out the bloated middleman entirely.

  • This is a good step in the right direction, but I'd like to see it applied to commercial plans as well. Prior authorization is everything they're saying it is and worse.

  • If you take care of your words now, then your words will take care of you later.

  • Haha, you're too kind. I'm just trying to do my part to help grow this place!

  • Originally saw this posted by The Picard Maneuver. I can’t figure out how to tag him on Voyager.

    Don't worry, I'm here too!

Also, I've mentioned it elsewhere, but might as well say here too: Anything I post to Lemmy (including stuff I've made) is totally fair game to post/repost/share anywhere you'd like. I love seeing content spread around the fediverse.

  • I still play games frequently, but in MUCH shorter sessions. I'm also gravitating more toward slower strategic/tactical games that can be paused at any time.

  • I knew this reminded me of something!

  • 450,000?! That must have taken forever!

  • I wondered the same thing, but I really can't tell if this is AI or not. Does something give it away to you?

I think "wizard-posting" has been a thing since before the AI rush.

  • This is the secret part of Home Depot they let dads into when they can tell you've got a serious project going.

  • I've noticed that some people do use other filters than "Hot" or they scroll back in smaller communities, because I'll occasionally get comment replies to posts I made months ago. It's cool to see.
