Do aliens exist in our planet?
  • Your smartphone can’t see viruses or heat but other cameras can. Point being, there’s lots a normal camera can’t see.

Do aliens exist in our planet?
  • Several things.

    1. Everyone seems to be stuck on the fact that travel to get here would be interstellar and that’s impossible. Another hypothesis could be that they’re inter-dimensional or ultra-terrestrial, possibly living in the ocean.
    2. The famous videos released by DOD and reported on in the NY Times.
    3. If the accounts of these videos by trained military pilots is to be believed then a) they can accelerate many times beyond what any known military craft can to the point where the structural integrity of any known aircraft would fail. b) They were observed entering and exiting the water.
    4. If a) then maybe our smartphone cameras cannot see them clearly due to speed or cloaking technology. I’d point to the “Jellyfish” video leaked this year where the UAP was captured by infrared only. Source.. Most normal cameras can’t see lots of things.
    5. Kirkpatrick was clearly running diversion tactics on this issue before he left to the Department of Energy. He lied about meeting with individuals about Skinwalker Ranch (the individual produced receipts), he’s purposefully deceptive with his wording - “aliens”, “UFOs” when asked specific questions about Non-Human Intelligence (NHI) and UAP, and gets the facts about the most famous cases wrong when trying to discredit them. Most recently he claimed that one of the videos was an optical illusion because it was filmed during the day but the video was in fact filmed at night.
    6. J Allen Hynek, head of Project Bluebook, which was a government program to debunk UAP. The guy who coined the phrase “Swamp Gas”. He finished his work with Bluebook and basically did a 180 and for the rest of his life claimed the government had pressured him into coming up with debunking theories. He believed in UAP and became an advocate for the rest of his life. Why?
    7. Rendlesham Forest case, which prompted the US Government to medically pay one of the soldiers who was subject to the phenomenon.
    8. The former Canadian head of our DOD and other very senior government officials which speak freely after retirement and say that there is a coverup. Recently Harold Malmgren presidential advisor to Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, and Ford, claimed that he was briefed on “Otherworld Technologies.” Obama saying famously in that interview that there are things in our skies and we don’t know what they are. He could have just said no they’re not real - why didn’t he?
    9. Famous reports in WW2 of fighter pilots seeing metallic orbs, just like the ones still reported today. There was no drone tech back then.

What would be enough proof if what we’re dealing with is beyond our current comprehension? Do they need to trot it out on live TV? Lyme disease wasn’t discovered until relatively recently like the 70s or 80s iirc and it was because a Doctor got it. Up until then they were saying it was juvenile arthritis.

I’m just saying that there has been a lot going on recently if you pay attention.

Either a lot of really high level officials are lying or military/intelligence is. Knowing how going public with this stuff can ruin your life, what possible motivation would they have to lie. There is no big money in this.

‘Who dreams this crap up?’: Kevin O'Leary slams new rule that allows employees to ignore their bosses after hours
  • I know people who live around where his wife was driving the boat and got in an accident and the people in the other boat died.

They all think she took the fall for him and he was drinking and he was the one driving. They were both drinking let’s be real - heading home from dinner on one of the most exclusive cottage lakes in Canada gimme a break.

Their opinion is he should have been charged and guilty.

The wife got back to the dock and took a big drink if I recall correctly to “calm her nerves” - oldest trick in the book.

    Anyway, this shithead says what?

Israel Bombs Shelter, Killing 11 as Polio Vaccination Effort Begins
  • I’m using a hyperbolic comparison to point out that Israel’s justification for killing Palestinian civilians is wrong. October 7th doesn’t give the IDF carte blanche to genocide a whole civilian population.

I’m pointing out that Israel often claims that Palestinian civilians are connected to / harbouring / being used as shields for Hamas so it’s basically fair game to kill them (they are enemy combatants).

Given that stance, shouldn’t the opposite also be true because Israel has compulsory military service. Because of this, all of their civilians are technically connected to the IDF so are they not also enemy combatants?

Canada moves to limit immigration amid strained relations with US
  • This is such a low effort trash article.

    1. Canada isn’t making immigration policy to benefit the US or to stop immigration of our immigrants over the US border.
    2. Pierre Poilievre is our version of JD Vance - a shithead do nothing lifelong elite.
    3. Canada needs a certain level of immigration to fund our country as the boomers retire and become more of a burden on our country’s social safety net. They’re fine tuning the volume and types of immigrants they’re willing to accept but make no mistake we need more taxpayers to maintain our quality of life.

  • I don’t understand how Israel’s excuses always boil down to Hamas was hiding there.

Israel’s population does compulsory military service, does that make them all IDF and fair game as a military target? Of course not. So why is “Hamas = Everywhere” a valid excuse when “IDF = Everywhere” isn’t.

EXCLUSIVE: Gold Star Families Had Trouble Getting Trump Into Arlington Until House Speaker Intervened | The Daily Caller
  • This headline is biased towards Trump.

It’s inviting right wingers to think that Gold Star families should be able to do whatever the hell they want and isn’t it sad that they had to get the Speaker to intervene.

Reality: Trump’s team is manufacturing fake outrage over gold star families visiting Arlington when the campaign was insistent on breaking the rules.

"Bring Back Trump"– CNN "Undecided Voter" Panelist Has Pro-Trump Social Media History
  • CNN has shifted to the right since their acquisition. I used to be ok with it but the quality of discourse, which wasn’t amazing in the first place, has declined to the point where it’s pretty unwatchable.

For example, Kaitlin Collins is a competent journalist, but she’s clearly been given a bigger role to appeal to right-wing viewers. Her background was the Daily Caller, I believe. Hardly a reputable institution, and I do question the integrity of someone who would work there in the first place. And she’s still one of the better ones.

They’re running an absolute clinic on how to tank a brand.

Former University of Kentucky student pleads guilty to assault in racist attack captured on video
  • Good for the woman who was attacked to maintain composure. That must have been really hard. From the article:

Spring said she understood it was critical that she remained composed even while being attacked.

"I wanted to make sure I acted appropriately so that I could keep my job because the script could have been flipped at any time if I had retaliated," Spring said

It’s so heartbreaking that the bolded part is systemic racism. Like she can’t defend herself because that terrible white woman would have pretended to be the victim? Fuck all of that and fuck that white girl.

Baby in Gaza partly paralysed from polio in territory’s first case for 25 years
  • I really don’t think Netanyahu and his genocide cabinet would stop even if they stopped receiving weapons and/or funding. You could prosecute under the ICC but he’s not going to attend any sort of trial. Sanctions will likely never happen.

I’m not saying what the west (it’s not just the US) is doing is right in backing Netanyahu’s cabinet. What I am saying is this leader’s actions are a prime example of evil if I’ve ever seen it in my lifetime.

What happened to Israel on Oct. 6 was evil beyond comprehension. It is not ok to genocide a whole population on that basis.

Additionally, it’s disheartening that Trump would be even worse amid reports he’s counseled the Israeli PM to avoid a ceasefire for his own political aspirations. Dangerous fascist dictators flock together, it would seem.

AOC slams Trump, saying he would sell the country ‘for a dollar’.
  • Our parties are more left leaning than US ones, yeah. So the left-most leaning party, the NDP is the Bernies and AOCs. Just slightly to the right of them but not by much are the centre-left (some could argue centre, for Canada) Liberals aka US Dems but these are still left of the US Dems. Then you have the Conservatives who used to be centre right but they’re really flirting with being firmly right which is STILL to the left of the US Repubs. So yeah, we’re pretty left.

Here’s a good breakdown someone wrote on the other site:

There's a Daily Show from back in the Stewart days when Harper's Conservatives won the federal election in Canada. The line went something like:

"Right wing parties are winning everywhere! In Canada, the Conservative Party, or as we'd know it here, the Gay Rainbow Alliance, has won their election."

If that gives you any idea.

The NDP are mostly in-line with the further left of the Dems, but realistically, the Liberals are only slightly more towards the centre than them. The Conservatives are historically right of centre, but still left of most of the American center. That was largely true before the Progressive Conservatives failed, merged with the Reform party, and became the Conservative Party of Canada.

That said, the Conservative parties have been moving further right in recent years. Some of this was because their supporters were generally finance, oil, large corporations, etc., so the policies they pushed forward were usually beneficial to them. But more recently they've been pursuing a lighter version of US-style populism. Mostly though, their platform for the past 3 leaders seems to be "aren't you sick of Trudeau yet?" because they don't have much substance in anything else they claim to support.

  • They need to pay some lip service to progressives for now to get elected.

AIPAC’s funding casts doubt on how progressive the Dems are allowed to be in the long term.

  • Yes thank you. It didn’t read as natural - that’s the word.

It’s disheartening that one can’t disagree on this topic without being eaten alive. I’m not saying elect Donald Trump and the couchfucker or anything ffs. Plus, I’m Canadian - so probably more left leaning than any US Dem - and as I’ve expressed, I really want the US to get their shit together.

I’ve done Toastmasters. I’m a writer for a living. I know how to give feedback on speeches. I also acknowledged that not every speech is received the same way by every viewer.

I’m not even saying she’s bad - I’m just saying she could be GREAT with more practice. I don’t understand why this is a shocking thing to say.

  • Just finished this. Took about a month. The pattern is free!

Since it’s unisex I used a Caron cotton cake in DK I think and knit the small size. I followed the guidance on the label for needle size. It started as an experiment and ended as a happy accident.

Also, I modified by adding the panel in the hood and icord string.

Hi - don't judge. This is my first mechanical keyboard and I'm playing around with something in budget that meets my needs as a beginner. I know it's not the best but I'm genuinely looking for help and knowledge here.

Yes, I know the allegations about the software/drivers for this keyboard being flagged as malware and have done research into this, though apparently not enough research. I downloaded what I thought was the driver for this keyboard but did not realize that it was a Via driver that broke the battery indicator and any possible connection to the (apparently terrible) software.

Would anyone have access to the original driver so I can roll the keyboard back to factory settings? The factory setting reset (function + esc 3 sec) doesn't roll back these changes. I tried to download one on Weiyun based on advice from the other site but everything is in Chinese and it does not seem to work.

Alternatively, does anyone know who I might contact to obtain this driver? I contacted the seller on AliExpress but they are spotty at best.

    Many thanks in advance.

I’m pretty close with this person outside of work and we used to have good non-work conversations but now I feel all I get is stories and photos of her children. We work in a tight knit team so I can’t really avoid them.

I got no less than 3 updates this weekend about a sports event with her kids including photos; more photos and another update about said event this morning; another photo of another child; updates about what her toddler was doing, and updates about how her kid made the track and field team and she absolutely needs to take time off work to go.

I don’t ask for this and I don’t really respond when she does it. I prefer to talk about other things. We used to talk about other things and now it’s kids 99% of the time to the point where it feels really one-sided. I tried to talk about a concert I went to this weekend and got really lukewarm reception.

I’m thinking I need to tone it down and say goodbye to the relationship/chit chat for a while? I feel if I tell her bluntly I’m tired of hearing about her children it will hurt her feelings. Any ideas?
