  • Imagine this being bored to your tits:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItZyaOlrb7E

Imagine being even more bored by pop music... ;-)

It's just always the same. Doesn't matter if it's Taylor or any other pop musician ever since the early 90s.

    Damn, now I feel old - and I'm only 38. ^^

I just have fun on the drums playing and teaching when it comes up to speed and different tempos. I love playing challenging stuff - for example Sam & Dave. I do love playing kicks that are not going well initially with crashes. It's just me, being jaded.

But apparently all my students dig my classes, so I can't really complain.

  • Oh, no worries. I teach them 50/50 what they want to learn and the other half is what I think it's good for them to learn. That includes Blues, Jazz, Grunge, Funk, Soul, and so, so many more genres. I just hate dull pop music with a passion. :D

  • (plays punk music angrily in a corner...)

  • I'm a drums teacher and I'm this close to breaking my sticks with my bare teeth if any of my students request learning another shitty Swift song ever again. Or maybe I'll smash the window in by throwing my kit at it. Or myself. Or my students...

  • Wasn't it taking place in New Mexico, according to some ancient interviews and the writers bible for those bits? Please correct me, if I'm wrong here.

  • I know a bunch of people in happy cis-hetero relationships where there is no bs going on with traditional gender role expectations. A dear friend of mine is a super sweet, sensitive and emotionally open cis-lad. He and his wife are very happy together. He's got pink hair, dresses pretty funky and is super adorable while his wife is more on the butch side with a healthy 'let's do this' hands on mentality and a nice casual look. That's just one exampel. Almost all my hetero lady friends go for emotionally open and cute lads. Just be yourself, find the right person to date and be happy together.

  • Seeing them live soon. :)

  • Candy for Mandy. :) Treat yourself every once in a while.

  • To be fair, there are both types of pubs. Since I do not care for sports or fancy places, I always go to the more quaint ones. I love those links, by the way. Thanks a mil.

  • Really? When I'm going to a pub in the UK it's called something like "The Old George" or "The King's Inn", the building must be a few hundred years old with a door frame so low it bonks any unsuspecting patron right in the head. There are at least two fireplaces lit, minimum requirement of one sleepy old dog who's been there since forever and all the furniture looks like it's been hand carved way before anyone came up with the idea of DIN standards. The only music playing is of course made by some fiddler and a patron singing off-key since they had at least a few pints too many.

  • I used to be straight edge (or queer edge?), but gave up a few years ago. I need my vices just so I don't feel dead inside 24/7.

  • I watched Gattaca for the first time and I introduced my partner to the movie Upgrade. Gattaca was an interesting piece to watch. After seeing Upgrade, both of us had to recover from the psychological trauma it caused. I've seen the movie quite a few times by now, but the ending still punches me in the gut.

  • Arthur Dent will be delighted about that news story.

  • And I just tested the hot sauce Da bomb beyond insanity. Long story short, it lives up to its name.

  • Mein bester Freund kommt aus Cork, er hat mal ein paar Tipps für euren Trip in den Süden aufgeschrieben.

nice pubs in cork: abbotts alehouse; my favourite pub, fantastic beer selection, staff and regulars are amazing for chats. bierhaus, friary, Franciscan well, sin e, coopers corner, Shelbourne, rising sons are all good places with either good irish trad scene or local breweries on tap, all fairly close to each other. There's also impala, the raven (awesome cocktails), the vicarstown, the roundy and the woodford for another cluster of nice pubs, some good food in basically anywhere between paul st and Patrick st, Washington st and oliver plunkett st have some great pubs and restaurants too. I might just put a blob over half the city centre and say 'go there'.

and for southern Ireland in general, Waterford is nicer than people would say, especially if there's a festival of some kind going on, there's like 3 picturesque towns per km of coastline for county cork and Kerry, with special mention going to dingle, bantry and kinsale.

activities in the city, I haven't looked too hard into but there's an opera house, crane lane seems to be the biggest 'casual music' venue with a few more smaller ones around, plenty boat ride stuff especially in cobh (short train ride out, basically bray without the delusion of being a different place) and a comedy club does regular amateur nights. I went on a nice tour thing of a chocolate factory as well. ^^

  • Those places are lovely, of course I know then - I'm from there :D

  • I'm queer and once had a date with a black woman from the States while living in Dublin, Ireland. She asked me if I could be her local tourist guide. Sure thing!

Walked her all across the shitty overpriced city centre. At some point she asked me:

"Am I the only black person around here?"

Eventually decided to ditch the CC and take a taxi to my local area.

Waltzed into my regular pub holding hands, cuddeling.

The entire place filled with white cis locals went dead silent like in a bad cliche movie.

"Harry, two pints of the black stuff, will ye?"

Peeps realised that at least I was a local and continued minding their own business.

    Jeez...

  • The basic mindset of our dog. :D

  • Music. You can hear my eyes rolling when there's pop music being played anywhere near me or when the children / teenagers in my class ask me for the x-th time to teach them fucking Taylor Swith. 🙄
