I've just heard a podcast talking about this if anyone is interested:
More or Less: Behind the Stats: Bonus episode: The Autism Curve
Episode webpage: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0l7zfjv

Widening and narrowing? Ghosts have a conical penis?

I haven't found any. Anything of that sort would need heavy handed and laborious moderation and would lend itself to quite a lot of bias from moderators. Your best bet is to do this sort of thing locally with a small group of friends (or internet friends).

T shirt and jogger bottoms (and a hoodie for most of the year). I'll go out like this to the grocery store or to take the kids to the park. For anywhere else I'd put jeans on

Always demand restitution.

I've bought a retro console recently and these are the options I came across. That's all I know.
I'm in the UK and I can see a TrimUi Smart Pro for £30 on eBay.i can also see a vertical brick Anbernic RG35XX for £30.
Definitely check out eBay listings. You should be able to get old €60 RRP devices for a lot less. I got my Retroid Pocket 4 Pro for a bargain price because everyone seemed to be dumping recent consoles to buy the Retroid Pocket 5.

Don't know. But just teat any game you like the look of and if it doesn't work then 🤷♂️

Here's a full compatibility list resource.
The ones I'm enjoying at the moment are:
Melatonin
Death Squared
Super Meat Boy
Binding of Isaac
Enter the Gungeon, Celeste and Spelunky 2 also work very well.

There are a hell of a lot of options and you need to decide on the form factor you want. Have a look at this video for a general overview of the possibilities at every budget. Whatever you decide on, I would recommend getting it on eBay to avoid delivery charges, tax, etc. You'll get a lot more value out of used "like-new" products.
You could use an old Android phone and this might be a most versatile option....although locking down might be an issue (depending on how young this sibling is).
For emulation consoles:
Miyoo mini is probably the cheapest option in your budget for you that can play what you want. Also look at the Anbernic 35XX device range (same hardware in a ton of formfactor options).
I would personally look for a deal on a Powkiddy X55 (or TrimUI Smart Pro is a bit cheaper) to get a candybar form factor and up to PSP games. Retroid pocket 3 pro might be a good option too if you can find a bargain.

What is up with these random NSFW unrelated pictures that keep getting posted across reddit?

You're welcome to do that, but learn to do it properly. If you're just looking to preach and be outraged, then you're part of the problem. You can't change others, but you can change yourself.
I personally love podcasts. I'll always be able to recommend from there:
You Are Not So Smart: 306 - I Never Thought of it That Way - Mónica Guzmán (rebroadcast). Episode webpage and Media file
If a black man can make friends with the most racist KKK members, and actually get them to change their minds through conversation, then there's hope for anyone.

For anyone who hasn't discovered it yet.....emulation is so great.
I got a little emulation console for £120 (Retroid Pocket 4 pro, see my post history) 2 months ago and haven't touched my Steam Deck or gaming PC since. Highly recommended.

Oh look, it's my 2 kids who decided to wake up at 5am and are wondering why I'm not awake yet.

Here's a tip for how I've improved my social media experience greatly:
Stick to a rule of 1 comment and no further replies.
Strangers online are not going to be convinced by your point of view and there is nothing to gain from getting into a back and forth conversation. Unless it's a particularly positive or productive conversation about a particular interest you share....there's nothing to gain from arguing online and lots of potential mental damage you risk.

Punchline isn't even funny. Anyone who laughs is an idiot and the creator deserves to die.

This is not a question for Lemmy.
Could be anything from dry eyes to glaucoma. Get it checked.

Is this the trend now? Dog theme?

👍

make you attack me
Oof. Totally not an attack.
Isn't this the point of therapy? That we can change out own world by working on how our brain perceives and processes it.

Circle of influence vs circle of concern. The answer still lies within you to be able to calibrate your mind to be able to live through a shit situation, and do what you feel able to improve it.

A retro gaming handheld console has been amazing for me and I want to recommend it

This little handheld console has been so great. My PC and Steam Deck must be so disappointed with me.
I had been following r/SBCgaming for a while and never felt the need to play very old console games. But now it seems that these consoles have really come a long way in what they can play. I saw reviews for the Retroid Pocket 5 and thought it looked amazing. Then I saw the prices of the Retroid Pocket 4 pro and it was a no brainer.
I bought the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro on eBay for £120 (probably could have gotten it cheaper, but I rushed to buy this). The fact that such a tiny and pocketable handheld can run Nintendo Switch games (less demanding ones) really blows my mind. I carry this with me everywhere. It fits in pretty snug t

I made another leverless controller for Street Fighter

I really like Street Fighter and I like making things.....so both interests have combined and my wife thinks I've got a problrm: https://i.imgur.com/OvFO47j.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/cSUfHDl.jpeg
Just don't ask me my ladder rank.
So I took inspiration from Daigo. I figure more buttons = more ladder points

White custom layout keyboard

I previously posted my custom layout keyboard which I use at home. I got fed up of the different layout at work so I made the same thing to have consistency. Really happy with the result. I'm trying to set up macros now to make annoying tasks at work faster.

Finally built a keyboard with my ideal 60% layout

Been thinking of doing this for over a year and finally got round to it. Found parts. Spent hours soldering, lubricating, stuffing with foam and programming QMK. So happy with the final result. It's a joy to use.
Gateron yellow switches. YMDK PCB, backplate and case. Ali Express keycaps.
It's a budget build and none of this is high end......but it has still worked out really well.

I made 2 hitbox controllers from scratch

I've really liked hitbox controllers for Street Fighter 6. I've been really happy with how they've turned out and they're a joy to use. If there's interest I can post the build process/instructions/guide.
