Israeli soldier loses it at Unicef while on vacation
  • Yes, but I think the point is that strong man types do appeal to a certain demographic that they are trying to influence, not that it appeals or should appeal to themselves or the general population

  • I would vote no matter what (assuming I am legally allowed to vote). You have lots of local elections and initiatives that are also on the ballot, plus what if depressed participation causes more "safe" blue states to swing in the wrong direction? Less margin means Trump will challenge the integrity of the election and try to declare he is the winner in more places.

Dragon Ball Z abridged is one of the worst things that happened to the franchise.
  • People that don't like the original after watching the parody probably wouldn't like the original even without watching the parody. The parody just puts a spotlight on aspects of the show that lots of people noticed and they probably already have an opinion about those things in their media.

Don't put too much stock into other people liking the things you like. They have their own very specific individual tastes and you can be good friends even without agreeing on lots of things.

Trump vows to prosecute Google for showing 'bad' stories on him
  • He's actually trying to build a narrative of distrust around tech companies and trying to reinforce that his information bubble is legitimate despite what it looks like. His supporters will eat it up and be manipulated into thinking certain ways without really knowing it.

Progressives aren't quite sure how to deal with Jill Stein
  • It'll be okay to vote third party (in a social sense since it's already allowed legally) when we change the election systems that we use so that third party votes are not spoiler votes. Let's abandon First Past the Post and use something like Ranked Choice Voting or better.

  • I am happy with nerfs to avoid power creep as long as things are generally getting buffs.

I don't want to get into a situation where everything needs to keep getting blanket buffed for balance because they find imbalances and going up is the only option.

  • Fun is also what fuels exploration and learning. I think the overall point here is that there are people who have fun with different experiences that may be at odds with each other. Some people like struggling with something until they achieve success, and others just want to relax and have a good time.

Personally, I've had my fun with hard games in the past, but I'm turned off from the idea of getting stuck behind a skill barrier because I'm older now and have less time to spend on games.

I identify as weird and the recent political trend makes me uncomfortable
  • I like to think that being called weird isn't an insult. But it is being taken as an insult when used on people who call others weird as an insult themselves.
