  • Hydrogen is the future. Electric is stupid and too expensive. like the price of teslas that subsidized the supercharger network, Hydrogen car prices need to include a sort of subsidy allocated for H2 production scaling, to accelerate the transition, and early adopters drive down the cost for next H2 car buyers, but at some point corps need to be taxed to drive further sales.

    Why Germany Hates Nuclear Power

    mastodon.gamedev.place Feyter (@feyter@mastodon.gamedev.place)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gF9kkB0UWYQ When I still worked in #science in 2016/17 and was invited as a speaker to a #IEEE conference about #NDT the number one topic people ask me was "is germany really backing out of nuclear energy?". This video shows the #problems caused by this decision (...

  • well in fact there are multiple sat trains over the northern hemisphere lol ( and some on the south), according to the online sat tracker. apparently those trains help mitigate peak hour bandwidth usage, but i dont know better. still, thats an abnormal sight to have.

  • well starlink sats run on solar too, no ? which makes them a sustainable choice too over fiber. and scientists can get their rich countries to fund orbital observatories also ? but SpaceX can be proactive in this regard also and deactivate some starlink sats in certain timeframes over certain regions to allow research. its kind of mixed up situation.

  • well polluting earth orbit with parasite radio frequencies is in SpaceX business model favor: that way the scientific communtiy well be obliged to have observatories beyond starlink orbit (ie Leo i think), so u would have to create ur cluster of radio astronomy satellites and would have to contract SpaceX to deliver them for you to the intended orbit..just a guess but one would think this way, since every company is profit driven after all.

  • scleral lenses are better than soft lenses since u can put them for 16 hours straight without suffocating ur eyes (eye blood veins need air to function), but with all lenses, u cant use them in contact with water like while showering or something. also high prescription glasses aren't fun either, maybe bit safer. combination of both would make sense i guess.

  • same struggle with europe@lemmy.ml and europe@feddit.de : the lemmy.ml one is basically dead there. also with finance@beehaw.org and finance@feddit.de: no one is consulting the beehaw one, and on feddit not many are keen on finance, although its a major sub community somewhere else. also i have a feeling that we need to defederate from beehaw (school shootings instance) : i dont want the internet to be a place just about the americans, also the instance's name doesnt sit well with me.
