lol, not been a great couple of years for those guys
Amazing, thanks for sharing. Some super interesting new finds - this game really is the gift that keeps on giving!
I think they’re referring to a trade in programme
Yeah, definitely a Memmy thing. Happened to me too.
For those who want something like Plex used to be (self hosted, simple, fast, beautiful, no bullshit spam), definitely check out Emby. I’ve been using it for years and it’s fantastic!
Absolutely. It really depends what you want to do. Jump straight into the frontline meat grinder and you’ll be able to dip out whenever you like. You could even do some basic logistics runs in that time. Start building bases or factories and that’s when there’s a huge time commitment lol
Uhh… Baldur’s Gate 3?
I use parsec to play retro games with my mates by streaming from my pc. Works really well!
Permadeath programming, love it
That is impressive. I host a fair amount at home but do rely on lots of cloud services too. My doorbell won’t ring on all my smart speakers if the internet is down!
Curry or cheese+mayo for me but honestly all of these are great
Only if it turns up in a search result for something. I refuse to install their crappy app on my phone and Lemmy scratches enough of the itch that I haven’t been tempted back
Appreciate the transparency here, keep up the great work <3
Oof. I feel there’s a lot more of this kinda stuff to come…
Yup, I've done the full switcheroo. Not going to be using Reddit's app and 90% of my Reddit use is on my phone...
Can see you from my local instance :)
Best way to do it is to get one of the open source doom engines that’s *nix compatible and move your WADs over!
I’ve been using Emby for a few years after Plex just became worse and worse, relying on cloud logins and being unreliable, pushing their own junk content above my library etc. Emby reminds me of what plex used to be, it’s amazing!
Inb4 YouTube starts charging for API access… too soon? :(
