Staff strike closes doors at GTA Metro stores | Winnipeg Free Press
  • All the strikes these days honestly just make me happy. Love seeing workers standing up for themselves.

I mean it does suck they need to strike at all...

Report: Google could reveal a foldable tablet at I/O 2024
  • Not really sure what the use case is here. Not sure what value being able to fold a tablet would even bring? At least with a phone it allows you to pocket more screen.

Johnson & Johnson must pay $18.8m to cancer patient in baby powder lawsuit
  • This isn't even punitive, but just the cost of doing business. Protip, if the fine wouldn't stop you from making the same business decision again, it's not really a fine.

Hollywood Shuts Down After 160,000 Actors Walk Off the Set
  • This. I want more strikes. I'm tired of everything going to shit and the masses sit back and do nothing. I've gone to a few protests recently, and honestly it's cheap therapy for me. Feels nice to actually DO something.

  • I watched click recently and it definitely did NOT hold up for me. It's just so over the top dramatic that it waded into cringe for me. Sucks because when I was a teen I thought it was absolutely amazing.

Lemmy, AITA for disliking copied content from Reddit in the AmITheAsshole community?
  • The lack of discussion isn't because it's a bot post though, nine times outta ten. I'm all for more content as long as it isn't obvious spam. The more content for me to interact with the better

TIL that the vast majority of posts in TIL are created by a bot account.
  • Is this not effectively a link aggregation site? Why do you care if the links are bespoke human entered data? People keep bitching about this and it makes no sense to me at all

  • It's a link aggregation site though. Like the memes and stuff might be OC, but news articles and the like make total sense to be posted by bots IMO. The comments and engagement is what I'm here for. The more posts that trigger and allow for that engagement the better
