It doesn't mind waiting for you to finish
  • It's supposed to be better to close the lid, before flushing.

I saw a video somewhere picturing the fecal mist that gets sprayed upwards, if the lid stays open when flushing. It convinced me.

  • The before and after sliders are the saddest thing I've seen in a while.

It shows, the weapons they used really flatted the area, there's no chance of surviving this, if you were hiding somewhere within.

Edit: Ok, the layer of sand/soil over everything makes the whole seem much flatter than it is. When you zoom in, you can notice some buildings almost invisible but still standing. When zoomed out a little, they're gone. But even so...

Rocket Report: China leaps into rocket reuse; 19 people are currently in orbit
  • They were/are doing things obviously right. Succeeding at the one thing that all Space adventurers & manufacturers strive for, re-usability.

Now others, using a similar approach, will enter the game and thus enable competition.

Idk, I'm always positive at the prospect of any kind of monopoly ending.

Edit: all my positivity refers to Europe entering the game. Sadly, the fact of China also being pretty much in the game, has become a reason for concern, since they made it clear again to be competing against all, instead of competing with all.

    Broken things
  • If you are referring to the champagne bottle traditionally broken during a ship's christening ceremony, it didn't break.

Because there was no champagne bottle used during Titanic's christening ceremony, as this was not the White Star Line tradition.

And people still ask themselves why the Titanic had to sink...

futurism.com Elon Musk Reportedly Offered SpaceX Employees Sperm to Seed Mars Colony

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk volunteered his sperm to seed a Martian colony, the New York Times reports, highlighting his obsession with the plan.

SpaceX employees' work is breaking barriers, while this asshat keeps terrorizing them with his utter gross bullshit

Edit: after reading through the article again, some passages stuck out, like:

    >Apart from aspiring to become the biological father for his Martian colony, Musk has leveraged many of his own businesses to create a civilization on Mars, including Boring Company tunnels to dig under the planet's surface and a Tesla Cybertruck rugged enough to traverse its mountainous landscapes.

So, take it all with a grain of salt.

    *Emphasis mine

edition.cnn.com NASA waves off spacewalk after astronaut suit springs a leak | CNN

US astronauts Tracy Dyson and Mike Barratt abandoned plans to exit the International Space Station on Monday to conduct maintenance due to a spacesuit malfunction.

    >The delayed spacewalk is only the latest in a string of setbacks around operations on the International Space Station in recent weeks.

    >This marks the second spacewalk in recent days that has been abruptly called off due to spacesuit issues.

    >In addition to the aborted Monday spacewalk, the federal agency has been aiming to carry out another on July 2 — before giving Boeing’s Starliner capsule the green light to undock from the orbiting laboratory and make its return home.

    >The Starliner spacecraft has been on its first crewed test flight to the space station. But the vehicle encountered several key issues during the first leg of its trip, including springing helium leaks and experiencing thruster outages, that have delayed its return.

edition.cnn.com Documents found on a North Korean server suggest US studios may have unknowingly outsourced animation work | CNN Politics

North Korean illustrators and graphic designers appear to have helped produce work for US animation studios unbeknownst to those companies, suggesting that unreleased episodes of a few popular American cartoons could include work from one of the most closed-off economies in the world.

    >The files were discovered in December by Nick Roy, a Boston-based cyber-sleuth who regularly scans the North Korean internet as a hobby. Roy found a new North Korean website that outside visitors didn’t need a password to access, unlocking a trove of animation sketches, and shared them with the Stimson Center, a Washington-based think tank.

    >The documents include a series of Chinese instructions that have been translated into Korean. They call for making adjustments to the size and style of the animation. Among the documents, there is also an editing sheet written in English with specifications for animation work with “Invincible” printed atop.

I'm pretty confused about one thing.

When deleting your own comment, there always stays a placeholder in its place. I noticed this with my own and other lemmings posts.

So far so good, but i tried to reply to a deleted comment by another lemming and above the reply box was the full comment the other user deleted.

I mean the full content of the comment that was deleted.

Is this the normal behavior in Lemmy or is it Sync?

I mean, i want my deleted comments to disappear and not just hidden and for everyone available to read.

Please try it out and reply to my deleted comment in this post. Just above the reply textarea you'll see my deleted comment.
