great book! the last third wasn't my cup of tea though.
i mean, that's a pretty niche case and maybe your underage kid shouldn't be sending nudes via imessage anyways.
so weird to see my hometown on lemmy, haha. wo genau is das foto entstanden?
love orbit!
I just got blinded twice in the pitch black darkness of my bedroom because Memmy randomly decided it's time for 2 seconds of light theme. Seems to be triggered by switching between Apps.
Is it just me or does the sliding animation not feel as smooth as the rest of the app? Feels like 60 fps instead of 120. I'm on iPhone 14 Pro.
+1 for language setting. more options are always good and right now the translation is really inconsistent, mixing languages and sometimes just being flat out wrong.
Aber more power to you, wenn du das wirklich so konsequent durchziehst!
Industrien darstellen.
It's almost like people are willing to spend money for a good cause, when they are not constantly being pressured and scammed into it.
just wait for an hour you fucking freeloader, jeez. people nowadays have no patience smh my head. /s
Could we like, not immediately talk about monetisation 1 month after leaving reddit? If you want to support your instance host, you can ask for a way to donate.
Literally saw a comment like that yesterday. Drives me up the wall. I'm in the process of accepting that the average Joe/Jane just doesn't care about anything but their little bubble. I used to spend so much emotional energy on trying to convince people to stand up for something greater or to at least think more than 2 meters ahead, but now I'm just done. I'll watch out for myself and the people close to me, everyone else can just evaporate for all I care.
just saw the post and downloaded! thanks for the reminder!
awesome, can't wait to try it out.
testflight beta is full, sadly.
don't lose your head over this. lemmy, kbin, mastodon and apparently threads (the new twitter alternative by facebook/meta) are all part of the fediverse, which means they all follow a decentralised approach. mastodon and threads are microblogging platforms, while kbin and lemmy have a similar format to reddit. because they are all part of the fediverse, all these platforms communicate with each other and you can use kbin to subscribe to microblogs such as mastodon and have them appear in your feed. defederation basically means cutting the link between one server and another, so they can't communicate anymore.
well, the good thing is, is that it's way easier to just migrate to a different community than to a completely different platform like what happened with reddit.
entropy would like to have a word with you. to my understanding, if we assume our current universe is an isolated system, sooner or later matter and/or energy is going to be perfectly spread out (aka disordered), preventing any interaction or structures from forming. combine that with the ever increasing expansion of the universe and sometime in the far future, everything basically just comes to a standstill, because nothing will be able to interact with anything. this is called the heat death of the universe. what happens afterwards, if anything, is uncertain, but according to our current knowledge we can't assume that the nature of our universe is cyclical.
