US Space Force warns of “mind-boggling” build-up of Chinese capabilities
  • SpaceX is the only legitimate way to make it into space in the US right now though. it's mostly a failure of NASA, but it's going to take decades for a real competitor.

Drop your most "wtf that's not how the world works" from movies/tv shows.
  • It's really crazy, because not only is it obvious, the stock market has several protections for more or less this. Trading is routinely halted when weird things happen like massive plunges in price. Rollbacks are also a thing that happen somewhat regularly for all sorts of reasons.

Police say they can tell if you are too high to drive. Critics call it ‘utter nonsense’
  • Not sure if you have to pay for the blood test (it wouldn't surprise me), but part of driving on a public road is consenting to a breathalyzer test. They do need a warrant to draw your blood against your will, but they may bully the hospital into doing it anyway. Refusing to take one is a crime that in combination with any other violation can get your license suspended.

It may be worth going that route if you are marginally over the limit and a few hours would sober you up.

Mass Effect director says the next game won't feature any Veilguard-style aesthetic switchups: 'Mass Effect is photorealistic and will be as long as I'm running it'
  • Lots of people just hate stylized graphics. I don't really understand the hate, as they tend to be more timeless than more realistic styles. Also it's a weird statement from someone representing a franchise with multiple stylized aliens.

Anthony Richardson: Of course benching hurts, I'll use it as a moment to grow
  • He'd probably be more of a cut if anything, his performance is awful so far. He's still young, but between the numbers and the taking a play off it's not looking good.

    Applebee's
  • Applebee's has a decent bar and accommodates the picky people in a group. I can get an acceptable burger and fries, and they can get whatever chicken finger or Mac and cheese dish they want.

  • With Tyrek Hill being detained less than 4 months after the arrest of Scottie Scheffler, have the police actually angered enough people with money and power that there could be actual consequences?

Frozen Frenzy is an intriguing idea, but after Tuesday night it's unclear if there's a way to execute it well with a flow sport like hockey.

www.freep.com Michigan's Jim Harbaugh expected to be suspended to start 2023 football season

Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh would not admit to lying to NCAA investigators. It appears that will cost him part of Wolverines' 2023 season.

Harbaugh is looking at a 4 game suspension for lying to NCAA investigation. Ultimately meaningless because the first 4 games aren't against anyone competitive. This could be an excuse to not extend his contract that expires after this season.

    Preseason predictions.

What is everyone's predictions for the coming season? The hype is as an all time high for the Lions, is anyone buying it?

Vegas has the Lions at 9.5 wins, I think it's totally possible that they can hit the over. I'm buying the hype and think that this year it's the Lions division to lose. Superbowl is probably not happening, but 1-2 playoff wins could happen.
