    Vegan Parents Help Please
  • Thank you, this is very helpful and reassuring. We're at week 6 presumably. I've read a book which for pregnancy is helpful, but felt a little judgemenal about living vegan.

  • Please share recommendations for books, blogs, receipts or experiences when expecting as vegans. We're at the begin of this journey and struggle a litte to find help in typical literature. Thank you!

Vegans of Lemmy, would you eat lab-grown meat?
  • I'm vegetarian, my wife is vegan and I think this best reflects how I feel about it. Once you remove meat from your diet, you start to explore how flavourful everything else is.

Notification when new app versions are released
  • Not more but I would say it offers some additional options and integrations, because it's api based. For example, on my server I connected it with ntfy.sh which executes the command to pull the update, for the apps' docker container. (It's working 90% of the time)

Sync files and Joplin notes on local network as well as mobile data
  • Are you using a VPN to connect to your devices at home? I have a similar setup, when I'm away from home, I connect via Tailscale (a version Wireguard VPN) and keep all notes in sync.

In Joplin I use the WebDAV connection to store files on my server at home.

Japanese people on lemmy, what is Japan actually like ?
  • I'm not japanese but I want to travel there. We've discovered Takeshii from Japan on YouTube a while ago and I think he is doing a good job in capturing some opinions around different aspects of living in Japan. I'd say it's worth checking.

  • My wife and I started to drink Oolong GABA green tea for a few years now as an afternoon habit. We both enjoy it. No caffeine, but γ-Aminobutyric acid which ought to be healthy. However, we drink it mostly to take a break and enjoy the taste. Compared to black teas this tea isn‘t strong in taste but rich in flavour regardless. For me personally it made my tasting sense become more sensitive and appreciative over small nuances in flavour.

    How private am I?
  • I have a question about the work profile: would it make sense to isolate the PlayStore too, as it‘s google? Because this is the main painpoint for me, as I cannot move to a custom rom with my phone currently

    Immich Photo release v1.79.0
  • External Libraries

External libraries tracks assets stored outside of immich, i.e. in the file system. Immich will only read data from the files, and will not modify them in any way. Therefore, the delete button is disabled for external assets. When the external library is scanned, immich will read the metadata from the file and create an asset in the library for each image or video file. These items will then be shown in the main timeline, and they will look and behave like any other asset, including viewing on the map, adding to albums, etc.
