Google Chrome’s plan to limit ad blocking extensions kicks off next week
  • I switched to chrome because they were the first to have each tab be it's own process so one bad site/connection did crash the whole program. Also the cloud based password saving across devices was super convenient.

Firefox does both now too, has better ad blocking, and is a little less invasive and bloaty. A lot less invasive if you know how to set it up, which I don't.

But yeah, Firefox is my guy again

Someone stop the ride, I want to get off
  • I am starting to believe that the OP type of people aren't actually Biden supporters or democrats but paid for Republicans/operatives who have market researched the most effective way to reduce voter turnout. Kind of like how cigarette companies were forced to make anti smoking ads and went with the least effective or most counter-effective campaigns they could go with.

    *Naruto
  • I know it's a meme to talk about my boy rock Lee, but literally one of the most hype fight scene powerups of all time, and one of the most compelling characters of no natural talent/bloodline just effort and heart, and they sidelined him hard!

    Rock Lee for hokage 2024!

Seinfeld says that far left woke mobs have killed comedy. He also dated a 17-year-old.
  • Carlin got better as he got older. His shtick was always tight fast well rehearsed dense sets but he went from mostly irreverent to actually saying something. And he was still able to be so funny while clearly getting so angry.

This is what the continued existence of almost 250 years of democracy is up against
  • I suspect it has something to do with the collapse of the new deal coalition and the rise of neoliberal economics such as trade deals meant to gut unions, finance and media consolidation, and ending the welfare state...

But I'm just a blue collar boy... what do I know?

She was fired after not endorsing Splenda-filled salads to people with diabetes
  • I'm on keto so I use the occasional stevia or monk-fruit sweetener when I'm craving something sweet, and the fact that she was fired for not approving those recipes make the sweeteners feel much more suss. And they were already kind of suss to begin with, so like... what are they not telling us ?

The A.C.L.U. Said a Worker Used Racist Tropes and Fired Her. But Did She?
  • I think the Trump presidency really warped them and their supporters to be more identarian stalwarts as opposed to the ideologically pillar able to defend the worst people for the right reasons.

American dream of owning a home is dead, majority of renters say
  • For working class people home ownership was really the primary way to stabilize and build wealth. Which is important since we don't have a social safety net, most of our retirement has been privatized, healthcare and education are dramatically more expensive etc. etc. and since working class folk can't build up generational wealth we are moving into technosurfdom. I don't know if it's unique but it sure do suck over here for a lot of people.

I'm relatively lucky but shit be hard here.

How A Small Video Game Narrative Studio Wound Up At The Heart Of A Massive, Anti-Woke Conspiracy Theory - Aftermath
  • I don't really know much about the sweat baby controversy, but whenever I see "bless your heart" it just comes of as weak tea as it avoids engaging with premises or arguments and condescends and I think it generally loses the argument from a third party perspective. At least I've never read it and thought, wow they really got them.

It might be trite but I always preferred agree to disagree as a disengage tactic. That's just my two cents on internet discourse though.
