[Serious] How did he actually lose that election?

In 2022, Chris Jones, a nuclear engineer, ran for Governor of Arkansas

He is an Arkansas native. He wrote a detailed platform about improving Arkansas. He visited every single county. His opponent, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, barely campaigned.

Jones lost by double digits. She absolutely destroyed him.

He has a D next to his name. Democrats have made it crystal clear they hate the South, Rural areas, and basically every thing about Alabama.
Why would you vote for someone who hates you?
- In their defense, Republicans also hate the south. They just lie to their faces about it
  
  Even if they secretly hate them, their actions speak louder than words.
  The Republicans are making steps against abortion, against illegal immigration, against gun control. All things that the average Alabamian hates.

  That's what happens when you fuck over public education (AL is 45 out of 50).

- So true, but in case you were not saying this tongue in cheek, yes the Republicans have successfully demonized Democrat priorities so a lot of low information voters probably do think this way
