When this kind of shit has a Wikipedia entry, you don't really have an excuse for not understanding a long-term vilification of the poor in general in the US, used as an excuse for excessive means testing, and gutting social programs in general. More recently, in Florida, where they began a program of drug testing recipients of welfare, they spent more money drug testing people than they saved by kicking people off the program for being caught doing drugs.

The US is, by the numbers, a majority Christian nation. Thus it follows, a large number of those people must be behind these attitudes.

See the current "platform" the GOP is running whose basis is slashing all federal agencies to dust. What do those federal agencies do? Provide aide and collect taxes.

The point I’m trying to get at though is the hypocrisy.

If there is one conservative politician who acts illegally but the supporters of that party ignore it and instead criticise others more harshly for the same actions they are enormous hypocrites.

Google is free my dude. Just search for recent charges again politicians, and tally up which parties they belong to.

But let me guess: any source that doesn't support your world view is "fake news"
