Not sure if they used it for other languages but this was the cover for the Dutch translation of The Lord of the Rings I had as a kid.

I believe this piece of artwork was a major inspiration for Gandalf's appearance in the lotr trilogy
3I had a copy of Lord of the Rings with this as the cover art. Unfortunately, the bookshop decided to use those unreasonably sticky price labels that never completely come off.
