They can spew their bullshit to their hearts content and no one is being prevented from listening who wants to. The people who are pissing and moaning are just whining because they can't force everyone to listen anymore like they could on Reddit and that isn't any fun.
Lemmy is federated. No one can stop anyone from listening to what they want to listen to and no one can force you to listen to intentionally annoying edgelords if you don't want to.

7I actually don't mind hexbears and lemmygrad.ml. It is a good reminder to have that just like the world, the internet is filled with shitty people/beliefs. Makes it easier to take the things you see with a grain of salt. I don't want an echo chamber.
4The only problem I have with them is that they sound like MAGA idiots with their "liberal" bullshit. I get irrationally irritated every time I see one of those posts. I'm still not entirely convinced that they're not just MAGA hats pretending to be communists to make actual communists look bad.

I don't want an echo chamber, but sometimes shit can be so draining to understand stuff I need a break. That's when I do want one, for a short amount of time to relieve myself of the mental and emotional pressure. Once I'm sorted, then I can deal with it again.

The worst I've seen is some mild trolling, and some different opinions. It feels like lemmy.world is just fragile. Glad I choose kbin.social, let's me decide what I want to see for myself.
