Don't have huge financial and career expectations.
Be healthy and self-improve.
For fucks sake don't get into debt.
Do not commit crime.
At least try to work for good of society (or just not make things worse I guess).
And that's enough for me, and I recommend at least following first 3 points for good enough life without much stress (and last 2 if you're not an asshole).
I would imagine this person is being more general.
Don't steal
Don't kill
That sort of stuff.
Not your standard level minor tax evasion, illicit drug consumption, that one time you did 80 in a 50 zone but hey you were really late for that important meeting.
the one that person thinks about, pursuing a goal that you actually shouldn't have pursued (and that's painful)
But the one I immediately thought as I grew up in public middle school where so many children where doing nothing but fucking around
spending your young years doing jackshit and fucking around despite everyone telling you you should be more serious or at least stop annoying the others, then complaining the rest of their life that society is unfair.
Then there's me, overachieving and doing both of these things. Pursued a career I ended up hating (high school teacher) AND knocked up my girlfriend of 3 weeks at 20 years old.
Im guessing you don't like sports? W/L is pretty universal for win/loss and I don't really watch any sports. Taking an L is at least in the US a culturally pervasive expression.
I mean, until we get much better at robotics there will always be shit jobs. The key is just that the people who do them should also probably be able to live a decent life without having to worry about how they'll eat or have shelter or survive if they get sick.
The theory that in one point in time, science will help us live longer say a couple of years, and during that time, science will find out how to make us live some more years etc until we can live how long time we want to.
