Where do you even meet people anymore?
  • Start to learn a language and join a speaking club of some sort. You will definitely meet some new (and open-minded, well mostly) people there.

    What's your favorite controller?
  • Mouse and keyboard, optionally a Xbox Controller or similar.

But my least liked one? Probably any PlayStation one, I hate them all.

is your blue my blue ?
  • I've got 174. As I remember correctly categorizing colors in your mind depends on your native language (or just language used), and some may even categorize the hues on this gradient to more basic colors in their language (like in Russian: зелёный [zʲɪˈlʲɵnɨj], голубой [ɡəɫʊˈboj] and синий [ˈsʲinʲɪj]).

I think the boundary between the basic color equivalents for green, and blue (zielony /ʑɛˈlɔ.nɨ/ and niebieski /ɲɛˈbjɛs.ki/) in Polish are more moved more to the right, and that's why I got 174. But I wonder if I have repeated that test in my native Polish if the results would differ (so they are even more to the right).

Edit: I have manually changed strings on the website from English to Polish, making my mind to "think in Polish". The result is 179 so I think that theory checks out.

How has technology made your favorite hobby worse instead of better?
  • The industrial revolution resulted in climate change that makes it borderline impossible to be active outside in the summer.

Eh, not yet. For me it's much worse to be inside in a building without A/C, then being outside doing activities. You just need to be careful and do not expose yourself too much to the sun.

    Gatekeep ideas, not people
  • I've lately tested AI if it can allow me to practice Russian in a natural sounding dialogue. While it didn't sound 100% human (it was too formal and technical), it was a good practice.

So I wouldn't say that it can't be used for good things.

New idea for a language course
  • I know my little brother, which is 5 and half of the time I don't know what he's talking about. Although it's much easier to communicate with my cousin's son which is also 5. Still, saying that they are very effective at communicating is a huge exaggeration, since they can only say simple sentences.

Subscribing to YT premium is also an evil act
  • It definitely is better, but it sill has some stupid quirks that in some cases could probably be fixed by few lines of code, like not locking the screen when you are on the lyrics screen. It also is very slow to start-up in offline mode, which drives me nuts. But otherwise it is much better performant than Spotify and has better ways to listen to new music, instead of the dumb intelligent randomize feature on Spotify.

    Youtube is harassing us!
  • That's interesting, here in Poland you pay ~$12 for the family plan.

I didn't know it was that expensive in US. That sucks, man.
