Young men across the world have been embracing right-wing politics, while young women have moved to the left. Will it happen in the Australian election too?

I will never understand what part of Trump politics appeals to "young men" (or anyone).
The bloke is a loser, yet just keeps bluffing and grifting his way to the top. How is that a trait you want to emulate?
Even in the article the kid says:
"I was watching TV, and he just came out, and told everybody what was going wrong.
.... When did this happen? In which particular series of words that fell out of Trumps mouth during one of his insane ramblings did old mate get the impression this is what happened? It's like seeing a portent in your bowl of spaghettios or something. Just because a brief moment of chance brought something together that appeared to make sense on the surface doesn't mean you should ignore the 99% that doesn't.
- Whenever I'm speaking with others about politics I'm reminded how fucking dumb half our populace is. It's not even something from the past 100 years, even during the Roman times populism was a thing.
  If anything you'd think that with our current educational system people would be smarter but sadly the opposite is true.
  Peoe vote for parties just because they hate foreigners here. Sometimes I ask them, "did you know they wanted to increase taxes on X and decrease taxes for the rich"? And then you get all sorts of insults slinged at you. Blue collar workers with minimum wage calling me a "leftie" because I care about wanting decent health care and social wellbeing. People with minimum wage voting for parties that want to create more hardship for them and increase wellbeing and power for billionaires.
  Mind you, I'm not even from the US, populism and fascism is a problem everywhere. You'd think people would have learned something from 1939 - 1945. You'd think we'd cooperate for the wellbeing as a species and try to explore things to make our life on earth better (or even trying to reach into space).
  But nope here we are, hating on minorities. Helping billionaires getting more power. Destroying the wellbeing we have enjoyed for a couple of decades.
  
  The only reason fascism succeeds is because the wealthy promote it. They own the means of information and have spent a century vilifying everything that lead to labor laws, the weekend, sick leave, and everything else that made the developed world "the developed world"; now the average idiot thinks corporations gave them these benefits out of the kindness of their hearts.
  What more could a capitalist oligarch want than a state sanctioned monopoly whose financial success IS "national security"?
- He's been around long enough such that young men have only ever known a world where Trump is the Republican nominee. Their world view is one where Trump is the normal.
  Traditional conservative politicians are boring old men in suits. When they talk they put full grown adults to sleep. That was never appealing to young men barely able to sit still with raging hormones.

This guy just straight up admitted that the men on the right are going with their feelings and refusing to think or educate themselves.

- They can however vote for Voldemort "Stop the boats" etc
