Unsuprisingly it all boils down to the last paragrah of the Article:
Noticeably lacking from the pronatalist proposals discussed in the New York Times piece were policies that would help families manage the demands of parenting—things like childcare subsidies, expanded access to healthcare, and more support for caregivers of disabled children. Nevertheless, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told the New York Times that Trump “is proudly implementing policies to uplift American families.”
- One of the programs that has been defunded by the trump admin at my work was a program giving academics with families the opportunity to collaborate to make progress on research projects— something that becomes harder with kids especially if your collaborators are in other countries. We essentially reserve some spots in local schools so we can provide childcare (or else we pay for a caretaker to watch them back home).
How about "the president we turn into fertilizer" instead?
