As we don't have parliamentarian procedures such as votes of no confidence, the only option is removal via impeachment. With such sharp partisan divides, the GOP having unified control and the rich having a vested interest in keeping this dead horse of an economy alive, that's not a realistic option.
There are two options for getting out of this mess. One involves the folks with guns who like this direction for now. The other is the midterms. Grassroots (and I mean that, not astroturfing) efforts appear to have garnered several Democratic candidates who are wildly to the left of the current American Overton window.
