Couple possibilities. Dropped cigarette. Electric seat heat or motor failure causing a fire.

Random guess is this is from back when cars had cigarette lighters and someone dropped it on the passenger seat.

My personal theory is something such as a rearview mirror decoration/doodad created a magnified beam and burned a hole with solar ignition.
