Rate your mental health with the Trash Can Scale
down the street.
I'm getting better though. I lost my trashcan recently but now I'm found.
This actually seems quite reasonable, it can give you a pretty good idea of how strong winds are if you’ve not experienced the distance between 40kmph and 60kmph before
Yeah numbers are pretty hard to conceptualize unless you already know what they mean. The addition I would do is put the actual numbers there as well at the same time, so you could get a good reference with an example
40,000-60,000 mph is crazy 😶 must be those nebraska speeds
Wait until you learn about the Waffle House Meter..
Index, its the Waffle House Index! And its very important to FEMA.
It may be counterintuitive, but a bin is more likely to be down the street, than in the neighbor's yard. Because the wind will blow the bin along the open street more easily than it will force it up a curb or driveway.
I've found my bin halfway down the street several times here in NM. I've never had it end up in the neighbor's yard.
That’s a great point actually. I guess we can’t really trust the “trash can wind meter.” What is this world coming to?
This is just the Beaufort scale with extra trash cans
Not to be confused with Sea State
Is said trash can full or empty though? Those are two completely different scales.
is this in empty or full cans
In my area, they use outdoor trampolines as measurement.
If it's really windy your trampoline has impaled more than one elderly neighbour
kts please
I prefer the French Toast or Waffle House Indexes for unofficial silly weather measurement.
Anything but the metric system
Give me freedom units or give me death!
"What is this commie 'meter'? Give me measurements in the feet of the dead monarch whom my ancestors rebelled against!" Or something like that :3
