This game deserves GOTY status IMO. The combat, story, characters and soundtrack are absolutely top tier!

orscur
LOL I didn't even notice that, gonna fix it.
Edit:
A €50 game actually worth the money in this day and age? preposterous
Does anyone else have a section of their library for games you never want to play again (various reasons)
I have the no category for games I do play, the played category for things I liked but won't replay. The garbage category for garbage from mostly humble bundle. The holy fucking shit garbage game category currently polluting my steam account with sacred 3 and two worlds 2 :D
Yeah, it's the "Hide this game" option, unless it's something I really don't care to have in my library, then it's the "remove this game from my library" option.
The first one I can think of for the latter was Konami's eFootball. So shit I went straight back to playing old PES games instead.
In case you don't know: https://www.pessmokepatch.com/
Standalone modded PES, updated rosters with no purchase required as old pes is essentially abandonware
It's called "Nope" and it's where all the crappy games go to die
Yeah I put brawlhalla and rocket league in mine. Rage inducing crap
I call mine “played enough”, but I have had a change of heart on occasions and did go back to some of them.
Yes, and I put clair obscur in it. It's overly produced linear trash with entirely too many cutscenes.
If I wanted to watch a movie, I'd fire up netflix
TBH I love getting attached to good characters with good VAs and cutscenes in games (though I haven't plated 33 yet).
I would cite FemV. CP2077 would be alright with an unvoiced protag (for me), but the voice actress killed it, especially with the dynamic with Johnny.
Ooo interesting take. I'm on the other side of the spectrum - I don't enjoy open world or games with branching paths and would rather have a focused, linear story. E33 was a refreshing take for me, but I can see how it doesn't appeal to people who don't like the "movie" aspect.
I wish I wasn't fed up of turn based RPGs. It was fantastic for what it is, I just didnt like what it is.
I'm finding I agree with you. Visually it looks great I just never got into it like everyone seemed to
Why not a dedicated showcase on your Steam profile? Arguably even more prestigious, since they're limited in quantity.
I haven't messed around much with my Steam profile tbh, I didn't even know that was a thing.
I like to showcase a silly achievement I've gotten
Well, you can't just make a statement like that without showing us which one. That's against the internet law.
I‘m not that far into the game, but I love the characters, the emotions… I’ve felt more emotionally invested in the intro of this game than I have in 97% of all movies I’ve watched.
10/10 this game is on my "in case of amnesia" list
I stopped liking turn based RPGs a while ago so I never played it, but I watched someone play over discord and holy SHIT. GOTY? Probably. But if it doesn't get best soundtrack I'm gonna riot.
Not to mention one of the characters spending the entire game barefoot. It's the attention to detail, really.
The Sigma of E33, she even floats like he does!
I didn't even notice, which one? Or is it just the small screen on the steam deck?
Lune has rejected the idea of shoes. My headcanon is that she draws her mana from the earth and footwear gets in the way. In the same way that Quiet from Metal Gear breathes through her skin and must wear a bikini at all times.
YES! E33 is easily the best rpg I've played. the post game is a bit repetitive but literally everything else is perfect. and that soundtrack... ooh that soundtrack!!
Not just the soundtrack. That sound design is just perfect
Except for a couple of badly mixed voice lines, especially for Gustave. Everything else is great!
I have to say I think it's a great game... But may I ask since when you're playing rpgs?
(just curious, yeah it's great but...)
Holy shit
Definitely GOTY, can't wait for DLC and probably a sequel!
I'm curious from which angle they will tackle the movie. So many possibilities.
Shame it's windows only.
Not natively Linux but it runs just fine under Proton (although maybe not the default version)
It plays fine in Linux?
https://www.protondb.com/app/1903340
Seems like it works out-of-box for some users, with commands for some, not at all for others.
Are you asking or telling?
I played quite a bit on the steamdeck with no issues at all. Actually i think i maybe had to upgrade to the latest proton-ge and/or install the video codecs package in winetricks (think i did both at the same time so not sure what fixed it) when i first installed it, but once it was running it worked perfectly fine for the 15 hours or so that ive plqyed so far.
Too bad it's an rpg, i.e. I won't be playing it.
That's fine, it's great to know your genres!
Im usually very anti-rpg, but i gave this one a try and loved it.
So if you have gamepass it might be worth trying at least.
