And governments worldwide know this and change policies without talking about it. That's the worst part. Let's just be open about it. It is time to prepare for the outcome, for all, not just a few richy-riches who want to settle on the moon and watch us burn in their first row seats.

  Once our planets environment starts killing us, we're all unsafe. Billionaires might last longer but their military and security will kill everyone including their leaders once society break down.   And even if you could plan on building a safe haven in space ..... you need tens of thousands of willing workers to build that and make it possible. As the world is falling apart, I don't think thousands of professionals will be dedicating their time to save just a few people knowing that everyone else is going to suffer and die.
  That's the silver lining to all of this ... as macabre as it sounds ... no matter how rich or powerful you think you are, we are all equally doomed.

I don't think we're past all the climate tipping points; that'd start to cause runaway changes. Swift action right now would still provide a chance to lessen the impact.

Why would I trust the people who did this with the task of geoengineering our way out of this? Because that’s who is pushing all of it. All of the major polluters are pushing that bullshit because funding research into nonsense is cheaper than reducing emissions. Sorry filks, we aren’t gonna stop pillaging the planet, but how about we reduce the sunlight that piwers the entire natural world instead?
