Alcohol is a cursed potion that makes you think you've increased your Charisma and Intelligence, but it actually decreases Wisdom and Dexterity.
38ReplyIt decreases charisma too
16ReplyIt increases bravery though. This could be important against opponents with high intimidation.

I think coffee is more like a potion that temporarily increases a stat, only for it to cause a bigger decrease once it wears off.
Coffee does not wake you up, it allows you to ignore that you are tired for a short time.
23ReplySo for both of them, they temporarily let you ignore status effects from a condition, but you still take damage till you either fix the underlying problem (rest) or wait out the repair process (sickness)
8ReplyCoffee is a stamina potion with a debuff when it wears off.
7ReplyAnd also is a diuretic which causes people to need to poop. Not great for battle.
Similarly, cough syrup doesn't actually fix anything. It just makes you cough a bit less while still being sick.
4ReplyIIRC, diuretics make people pee, not poop. Caffeine stimulates the colon which makes people need to poop, which is unrelated to it being a diuretic. Diuretics can cause constipation because they pull water from the digestive tract.

From now on, when I've got a cold and I'm working on fixing bugs in our code while living off coffee and cough syrup, I'm calling it a dungeon crawl.
21ReplyCough syrup is a sleeping potion. Sleep is what heals.
16ReplyActually adderall is the mana potion. My reiki gets supercharged when I take adderall
7ReplyAdderall gives you 20% accuracy and speed. Cocaine gives you a 50% speed boost and a damage over time effect.
4Replyif you have the adhd trait you need one if not several potions of clarity every day to function normally
