Better than ICE, but I'd still rather see a greater push towards other means of transportation instead of just cars in our cities
- Trains are urban, cars EV are rural.
while we're at it can China also export some of their amazing fucking train infrastructure.
- The construction cost per km of hsr is not much higher in Europe. Especially Spain seems to be even cheaper then China.
  
  Construction cost depends on terrain, cost of buying land and how many bridges and tunnels you need. Just because it costs x amount in china, doesn't mean you can build it for the same price elsewhere.
- Spain ? France ?.donn't they have fast trains ?
  
  Laughs in German rotten railways, that use the same ancient track for customs, regional passenger and fast intercity transportation.

- Oh they're exporting it, to countries that want it, for example via BnR. But as others have said, there's great train infra from the EU and we have contracts with some firms to build HSR between Toronto and Montreal. But this HSR comes up every time there's an election so I'm skeptical this is gonna go anywhere. But it's not for the lack of good, well priced infrastructure. 😄
China has factories all over Asia, including Thaliand. I don't understand why this is newsworthy.
- I think it's because the EU tariffed EVs made in China and now the EVs are coming from Thailand. 😄
It's a very good thing that industry exists basically anywhere outside China. (the Russia and NK are exceptions, though)
If any day China decides to stop selling anything to Europe, we are in trouble. Except if there are factories in Taiwan, India, Vietnam, South Korea and, say, Thailand, also producing what we need.
It's still a Chinese company, but if someone absolutely must buy a BYD car, for whatever stupid reason, it's a lot less bad that the car was made in Thailand than that it was made in China!
