it is just automatically scaled paper map, so you have to know how to read it
Osm clients - I tried multiple of them.
Paper maps - from the same company that makes the Cycloserver maps. You can get set of them for about 100€ (CZ not sure about SK). There is just something special about planning trip on paper maps.
Crossposting on Lemmy is a bit odd. I suggest you copy paste the body of the message in the original post, to give some context.
For your topic, my apporach is using multiple sources:
OsmAnd allow to overlay cycleOSM, which are tiles that have good quality highlighting of cycle path and lanes. The route planning is not the best tho. It also sports offline maps
Graphopper has the best route planning for bike I found, giving also alternative routes and different riding styles
Strava heatmaps: this is useful to understand what paths actual cyclists use in real life
I was researching ridewithgps once again to see if I can justify the premium over Komoot onetime map plan. I finally thinkered around the web view of rwgps and I must admit it is very powerful already in the free functionality. I don’t think I will ever go back to Komoot, but I haven’t decided on the premium package for rwgps just yet.
