They built a dam for no other reason than to block the river so they could build a city in the river bed.

- Weeellll tek-nik-uh-lee they might have built a town along the banks of a small river, dammed the valley blocking the river, and then filled in the old riverbed. But either way yeah those guys are dumb for staying there.

- My first thought was why would you put a town at the bottom of a dam like that? And then I remembered that I grew up in a small town under a dam. That dam was on a fault line.

  'Cause the town came first. Town was built on the original river, which was later dammed for power/water reservoir for said town.
