  • The meme that GIMP is in any way comparable to PS? Yeah, I agree.

  • The only surprise here is that it was for China, not Russia.

  • I will never tire of reading articles like this. It's like the nectar of the gods to me.

  • I genuinely think that would be far more of a problem than him being indigenous, if that's what you're implying. If he were running for the CPC then yeah of course racism would be a much bigger issue.

  • Regardless of how he may have turned his life around, I don't think Canada is ready for a federal leader with a previous criminal record.

  • Isn't that movie notoriously terrible?

For whoever is interested in reading it, I quite liked the Peter Green translation. Fair warning though, it's quite long, longer than the Odyssey.

  • Ackshually it's only Hectoring if you drag them behind your chariot, otherwise it's just sparkling heckling.

  • Thanks for this, I'm a longtime user of OO and had no idea. LibreOffice just doesn't do it for me. Going to try Freeoffice...

  • People forget that S1 took time to build momentum too. Andor is essentially a political thriller, so people used to getting bombarded with action scenes and memberberries will struggle with it.

  • I just noticed that the title of this post indirectly has the name of a Rush song in it. It was meant to be!

  • Yeah, I'm not surprised this originated on .ml

  • Yeah I know, but it wasn't branded as a Volkswagen, nor had VW ever built any vehicle carrying the name, it was just a factory. Anyway this is just semantics, I'm ruining the joke.

  • They never delivered a single car until after the war, so that's a bit of a stretch... "Volkswagen" was basically just a factory building Porsche designs.

  • Are you referring to the Iltis, or what? VW didn't even exist during WWII.

  • Ubuntu in the mid 2000s, but it's PopOS that made me a fulltimer ~2 years ago. I don't use it anymore but I'll always be thankful for it.

  • That Germany gave rise to Fascism. It was "invented" by Benito Mussolini based on a hodgepodge of preexisting concepts and named after the fasces carried by Roman lictors, the bodyguards who accompanied high officials. Benny wanted to recreate the Roman empire so he drew a lot of inspiration from it; it's why the fascist aesthetic is so classicaly-inspired with a dash of Italian futurism, which was also in vogue at the time.

  • Poor Mussolini doesn't get the respect he deserves. First he failed at being a leftist, then failed at journalism, and finally the one thing he actually did that had any impact on the world is usurped by some random Austrian artist.

  • Obviously left, because you can still see the list of options when you have one selected.

  • Obviously. Is there any point in history when the SecDef wasn't one of the juiciest espionage targets in the world, regardless of who is filling the role at the time?
