And you get to avoid traffic!
  • I think it just depends on your body.

Worked night shift most of my life until recently, and never had any issues with it. Actually miss the emptiness of the roads and how little was going on while I was working.

I had to move to days a few times since the factory was closing night shift near Christmas time, and worked that no problem either.

Working days seems to drain me more so than any night shift position ever did. And I’m working an easier job now! It’s quite wild honestly.

The dude recently got shot at. But the most savage memory of this campaign will be the time when Kamala went mama bear and had this orange salmon for dinner.
  • Yep.

This is because one party has actively went against education tooth and nail. (except for THEIR kids, who get to go to schools that teach them how to take advantage of people who don’t have the best education like they do) - ReDUMBlicans

The other party has been too busy trying to find common ground and taking the higher road to even get the fools who vote for people like Trump and their ilk a view of how crazy their little imaginary team is. - Democrats

The good news is that I watched the entire debate, and was satisfied enough with Kamala’s performance.

I will say that I don’t think giving people child tax cuts is cool in my book, because people like me have chose to not have kids because of the current whacko bullshit that the entire world is gulping down right now. I detest people having kids in this current environment getting money for being selfish to the future of their kids, but I’m still all for Kamala. She did good!

A recent AI discovery resurrected my late father's handwriting—and I want anyone to use it.

I find this use of AI, like with 99% of the “uses” for AI to be not only disturbing as all hell, but shows that we are creeping closer and closer to bizarro world.

The $700 PS5 Pro doesn’t come with a disc drive
  • There’s not a lot of brave souls doing this as a passionate hobby any longer. Now it’s for the clout, to inject malware, or to receive monetary donations. Or all three!

I hope I am wrong, and we can get back to the passionate hobby, but it’s looking kinda grim from my point of view.

I need eyebleach after seeing that horrible trailer
  • I think that would be true, sure. The biggest issue I've seen, and after reading some of your comments about the SMB movie, they could've knocked it out of the park by:

1: Taking the IP, and it's respective audience, seriously and making sure it is faithful enough.

2: Keeping it FULLY 3D animated.

The fact they felt the need to pay these people for their faces, and (debatable) talent, they could've made the entire movie in animation and THAT would have definitely kept the respective audience more interested.

I've been saying it since the '10s, but not everything needs "real" actors and live action acting. Voice actors with quality animation can do just as good, if not better, for these types of movies. It's just that it's a cash grab, and the fact that culture seems to be dead, that we can sit here and objectively shit on it as adults.

    Anon boots up a game
  • I recently started doing this for all of my games! It helps a TON when modding, and for general "Okay, cool. I've seen this 10 times now!" moments. It's especially helpful when you click Play on Steam, and it just boots to the game main menu screen.

I don't mind watching them the first time, as I used to watch all the actual video game intro videos for my PS2/Gamecube/Wii/etc. My problem is after the first or second time, just stop fucking showing them!

Trump's rambling is getting worse | His speech is becoming harder and harder to understand.
  • I was told to read the transcripts back in 2017-2018, and did. This is what he always sounded like to me. A fucking moron. Now, he’s an older moron. I’m surprised this is news to anyone.

Zen Browser - A very nice, Firefox-based, clean UI browser
  • I was such a HUGE fan of Floorp until I saw the main dev behind it talk about how they wanted to start looking into ways to “monetize” the browser. Just really turned me off and I went back to Firefox.

Needless to say, this looks AWESOME, and I hope that more people find it and try it out. (After the early bugs are ironed out, of course).

    Good job devs!

Old School Runescape is raising membership prices
  • Hello! Just going to plug 2009scape, which is an open source version of old school RuneScape. It is available to download and play entirely offline with single player. It is just fine enough if you just want to scratch that age old RuneScape itch. :)

  • EDIT: Pathfinder worked perfectly with the mods! I was even able to have it setup the exact same way by transferring the mods from my desktop mods folder to the decks folders. 👍

    Hello, all!

I just wanted to post and say that dual booting with tiny11 has worked flawlessly so far, and I will update you all when I finish downloading Pathfinder and trying it out on the windows side. If it works well enough, I can boot back into SteamOS and delete it from there as I am wanting to play with a few mods and SteamOS breaks them due to UnityModManager being a windows only program.

If you have any questions, I can point you to where I found my answers, or I may even be able to provide some info to address any issues I was also running into during the process. 👍

xenevel.github.io Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin Cheat Sheet

Cheat sheet for Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin. Checklist of things to do, items to get etc.

Is there any way at all for me to preserve webpages like this so that if the website goes down or the webpage is abandoned I may still use the web page as intended? I guess I could take a chunk of time out of the day to recreate this in an excel sheet, but I wanted to ask here just in case there is a smarter way to do it.

    Thank you!

Hello, all! Longtime lurker on Reddit and now on Lemmy. I’ve tried looking into getting out of the US as things aren’t looking too great as I’m sure many of you know, but wanted some tips from those of us who have gotten out. Where did you decide to move to, and what were the things you looked at when deciding to move there? How did you go about the process? What are some stories you can tell about the immigration process? Where can I start? How can I realistically make it happen? I hope this isn’t silly to you all, as it matters quite a lot to me and I’m genuinely interested in getting away from here for good. Thank you all for your time!
