Working from home
  • Definitely if they require you to use sso, but if it's just guest wifi that anyone with a password can access, I wouldn't worry about monitoring.

    Working from home
  • I think it's kind of an old school way of doing things. My old sys admin boss did that every day up until her retired.

Anon goes to school with a menace
  • I've only seen them in elementary school classes where students tend to stay in the same class most of the day. But in middle and highschools there is usually a more traditional multi stall bathroom shared with multiple classrooms.

  • In my experience Miami style is usually melting cheese and potato chips. Looks like this one also has spicy mayo or something similar on top.

Trump Campaign Powerless Against Group of Teenage Girls Saying "Ew"
  • The hand is just someone holding onto their wrist with a phone being held onto with their thumb. The "phantom leg" looks like it belongs to the girl behind them. The hair is just a sloppy hair cut. To me the fact that this picture looks imperfect and natural is why it doesn't feel like AI. Most AI images make everything smooth and ethereal and almost never chooses to have people facing away from the viewer.

What instances do you block and/or contain the most trolls?
  • I definitely agree with this. I signed up with ml just because it was a big instance and generally found it confusing when first setting up an account. So far I think it's worked out because they have good up time and haven't insulated themselves too much compared to a lot of instances that will defederate at the drop of a hat. Hexbear can be hard to read at times because many users can turn so hateful so quickly, but I do think their perspective can be at the very least interesting even when it is clearly misguided.

I do strongly dislike that every large instance has formed its own stereotype and opinions are immediately dismissed if they are coming from an instance that is stereotyped as having 'bad options'.

How do we get "normies" to adopt the Fediverse?
  • Same. The volume of porn on reddit is staggering. On Lemmy most of the porn comes from repost bots with 0 quality filter or God awful AI bullshit.

    Can you blame them?
  • I'd never heard of this particular Springfield so I looked it up. According to Wikipedia St. Louis is the 22nd largest city by population in the US and Kansas City is 34th. Neither are huge but I think major city applies. Springfield on the other hand ranks 143rd. I'm not even sure most people would consider it a city.
