You need a specific Intel CPU that actually supports the DRM on those discs. I think playback only worked on Windows as well. I rip those discs to play them back on my Arch machine. That being said, I'd still expect the drive to read the discs. Have you looked into flashing the firmware of your drive?

The drive probably does support it, it has more to do with the firmware. I'm guessing you're trying to rip them with MakeMKV?

I agree with the sentiment, but the games don't play off the disc. The discs contain the game data that is installed to the SSD. You're using the same amount of storage whether you buy games physically or digitally. I buy mine physically because I like actually owning the game I paid $70 for.

Even if it did we's still find a way to copy it. I copy Ultra HD-Blu-rays I purchase to my hdd as a backup. DRM only serves to punish those who actually spend money on media.
