I've found that "Talking about this subject makes me nervous because of past experiences, I don't want to bother you with my sad life story" works very well. It throws the ball to the other side, suggests a mysterious past which they are curious about, but hesitate to ask because it could be offensive.

Potentially unpopular opinion - the term "autism" and "ASD" have expanded way beyond their original clinical meaning. It doesn't help that even the official definition is so broad as to be useless. Add to that the cooption by the Tiktok culture to describe any "quirky" behavior, and you get the current situation where it's hard to find a person that doesn't exhibit at least some "autistic" traits

I used to be what Americans call libertarian. Capitalism and free market ftw. I thought it would lead to a freer society.

At some point I understood that the consequences of capitalism lead away from what is actually my real goal - maximizing the liberty of each individual. If someone is afraid if they can afford food and housing they can't really be free.

Now I support certain types of socialist policies with the same goal.
