I'd use knife and fork but you do you.
Let them go there and prevent them from coming back.
There is no way people would make a map like that just to say "x isn't allowed in one country". Yet, here we are.
Also:
Sir, this is a meme sub.
Nice rule of thumb: 7% increase per year means doubling in 10 years.
Getting beat up by a group of Nazis. When they started kicking my head I thought I was going to die.
It's not healthy, but it's cheap: a hamburger at McDonald's — €1.40, if I buy fries with it, €3.50.
3.50€ for a meal isn't cheap and nothing a poor person can afford on a regular basis. I can cook a great meal for under 2€ that doesn't consist of trash. What a detached asshole.
Idk man I think I have to buy one.
They just make me forget about the bread.
Relate to laughing about you own jokes or being watched by the FBI?
Choked me, but no one believes a 9-year old anyways so nothing happened.
He did though, but they obviously let it happen.
Lol dude, don't act as if you didn't mislead a rebel group against the Roman occupation with false promises of heaven on earth being right around the corner. You worked for your dad, consciously and willingly spreading his bullshit and now you want us to believe you are the victim? You split the whole Jewish resistance against the Romans, effectively helping them keeping their grip on Israel and after Judas saw through your garbage you suffered the consequences. You obviously didn't learn anything from all of that, even trying to shit on platypuses which might be the only good thing your dad ever created.
As a millenial: yes they are the best so far.
Yeah, well, great. Write it down and send it to 50 years ago.
Either way, the world is so intertwined that anything that happens on a bigger scale will have an impact on you, no matter where you are.
It's not even the high and mighty, they don't really care who works to build their shit. They are even happy about cheap labour that comes with migration. It's the average Joe that doesn't see the problem, projects everything on migration and is unable to think rational.
Seeing the massive right wing shift in my country (germany) just because the government proposed to shift to 65% renewable home heating in the next 20 years and slightly above average migration numbers that allegedly bring communities close to collapse if you believe the media, I'm losing all hope of anything ever changing to the better. People will never accept any measures that truly address the root of our problems, because they could mean a slight inconvenience for a short moment and limit the freedoms and possibilities that are taken for granted, but are really just a consequence of the technical development in the last decades. Humans where okay with not having a car or fly around the world for thousands of years, but now for some reason it's life-defining. People are egocentric, dumb and can't see past their own little world to understand that there are collective problems that only can be solved collectively. I know how condescending that sounds, but I really don't know how to see all that differently.
We are absolutely, 100% fucked. I've been saying for about 10 years now, that the earliest time for actual change, for collectively deciding what's right for humanity and the planet, socialism or whatever you want to call it, will come after the next wave of fascism and every day it becomes more obvious that this assessment was correct.
Europe are already shitting their pants because of a couple of thousand migrant, so guess what will happen when it gets into the 100.000s.
I'm expecting full dystopia.
Mainly to get to work (10 minutes), but also all other short ways and occasionally getting out in nature.
As soon as money allows it, I'll get a better one though. It's used and I mainly bought it because the seller was close to where I live, but I need a larger frame and I want more modern mechanics, e.g. disc brakes, overall.
I think a lot of confusion about the fediverse stems from the fact that most services default to your local instance as front page. I know you can change it in the settings here, but the setting is also defaulted to local, so maybe that one should be set to all, too?
Is creating new communities possible right now? Or will it be? There is a feature request on github from January last year without any comments, so I wondered if it is even desired.
It seems the Sophos firewall at work blocks all access to lemmy instances.
Join-lemmy.org and lemmy.ml are blocked completely. I can see the front page on sh.itjust.works and lemmy.world, but clicking on a post results in an infinite loading circle. When I try to log in on either site I also get a loading circle on the login button.
Any ideas if I can circumvent the firewall?
Hello,
I'm a reddit refugee and used to rif. I particularly liked it because the design made it possible to read a lot of text without scrolling too much. I'd like to have the same experience here, but the two things I mentioned in the title impede that.
-
I can change the font size, but the size of the thread titles in the feed is smaller than the font size of the comments, so I can choose between titles being too small or comment texts being too big. It would be really nice to adjust them separately.
-
I feel there is a lot of empty space before and after texts, UI symbols etc. I really liked the "density" of rif. I get that a lot of people prefer the opposite, but maybe it's possible to also make that individually adjustable?
Oh and I'm using the android app.
Btw, off topic, but I'm kind of getting exited about all of this. I felt that reddit was one of the last spaces that wasn't completely messed up by corporate interest and I hope the whole fediverse thing will be a sustainable replacement. Keep up the good work!
