I was lying in bed, on my phone probably, when I felt this exact feeling. I'm not too terrified of this, so I just shooed the back of my neck with my hand to make the feeling go away. Just to be safe, I thought I'd check anyway. Right in the direction I had moved my hand there was a spider scurrying away. I probably showed it to the closest window, as is standard procedure. I didn't know to feel terrified that you can just be attacked in your own home like this, or excited that it was actually a spider for the first time.
The lasagna knows not of your arbitrary timekeeping, Jon.
Sure, but they are always worse because of the exact reason they decided to create their own wiki, such as Conservapedia
You may peruse this list of online encyclopedias.
Firefox Relay is meant for this. It can create a new mask in a single click, and it will forward emails to your actual address as long as you have it enabled. I'm not sure if you can send emails, but that's rarely needed.
I'm not sure how (or really, if) they keep their domain (mozmail I think?) from being blocked by websites as a source of spam.

That's the neat part!
They are about to double the rate lmit, so it should be a little better...
Yeah, that's what I'm getting now, too. Hopefully they take the deadline into account for rate limiting... Still good to have warriors ready to retrieve, I guess.
Not sure. They don't mention 4 being in beta or anything. Though they don't list much advantage of using it over 3 either.
I do wonder how it could be. People always say that you need to work to be happy, but it's not like they know it from experience. The few months you spend on the brink of starvation while searching for a job isn't comparable to an indefinite vacation.
Just like permanent vs. temporary housing for the homeless. One helps them, the other pushes the problem along.

Just looking at the numbers, it doesn't seem to me like archival will complete before the shutdown date (nov. 11). There are 2million+ elements left, likely 100TB+ of videos.
If you care to help them out, see instructions at the top of the page. Be sure you have a "clean connection", though.
edit: They're saying that the current rate seems to be plenty enough to finish by the deadline. Workers are often left idling at the moment.

If your ancestry was a tree, what people think of when saying this is the tree getting uprooted, when it really is more akin to cutting off a two, perhaps three growing seasons old branch.
Which is to say that not even in this teeny tiny way do you matter.
This is the same reason I'm an Apple user! I hate having a choice in hardware and software!! Makes things real easy.
The September 17th archive of the oldest public video on ashens' channel is saved with the comments section of a completely different video.
(only loads on desktop for me)
Not sure how this happened, usually it's no comments section at all.
If I were trying to make a point here: an archive doesn't even have to be malicious to contain misleading information presented as fact.
