  • Ace Attorney Investigations Collection in my Nintendo Switch.

I was hesitant about playing it as a collection/remake as I already have the game loaded in my DS with the fan translation (at least I skipped the complaints about the change of the character names 😆), and I have played all the prior Ace Attorney games in DS/3DS and I am much more a handheld user than a console user, but I have been liking the improvements that the remake has, and playing it in the big TV has been pretty comfortable for me with this title, perhaps the bigger screen for text is the best reason.

There are too many damn anime communities on Lemmy
  • I might try it more often, usually it is just a spam of memes for me, and for that I use other apps 😅

  • That is fair, browsing my subbed subreddits for more than 10 years was my way to go for Reddit (Reddit was my replacement for Feedly, basically, so I am used to curating my stuff).

Maybe that is why, aside from the APIcalypse I don't have a grudge against Reddit, and I missed some huge drama shit and toxic bs that you'd find in r/All (spam, bots and reposts too).

Oh yeah, I can totally dig that, I had the trending communities at my subbed communities though, although I don't see it popping up as often as it used to.

however, i wish lemmy had categories/tags for communities, so people could block or specificly browse everything anime or everything sports etc. it would be quite helpful.

I like Summit for Lemmy a lot because it let me create multi communities, so far I have one for gaming, one for retrogaming and other for handheld gaming, sadly Lemmy ain't reddit yet (only the first two are fairly active).

PS5 Pro’s price reveal causes gaming PC retailers in Japan to go all out on competitive deals
  • And then you'd need to learn the basics of Linux and solving issues related to gaming, that does not bother me (I like to hack stuff and set up Chinese handhelds lol) but it bothers my PC gaming Windows friends.

What’s your “I can’t believe other people don’t do this” hack?
  • My only dislike about the mask is that it sucks for people with glasses... If it wasn't for that I would be using it all the time.

I liked to be allergy-less in my work lol.

  • I see lots of people in this thread saying to go to the PC or the Steam Deck, but are we ignoring that both systems do not have a disc drive too?

I mean, aside from the disgusting price of the PS5 Pro not having a disc drive is the biggest offender (and the reason why I am not even considering buying it, despite being a Sony user since the 1st unit).

DeArrow is an open source browser extension for crowdsourcing better titles and thumbnails on YouTube.
  • Hmm I wasn't aware it "fixes" titles as well... I am using it on Smart Tube to have better thumbnails, do I have to activate this myself to correct titles as well?

Anyway 99% of my ST usage (aside watching videos, as in, adding stuff to watch later) comes from my Shield TV home screen, I add stuff there to "My List" Shield row based on my recommendations row... And I am pretty sure DeArrow does not work there, only within the app :/

Some components of our apps are open-source, but the main apps are not. This is to protect you and us from unscrupulous counterfeiters who add malware and ads to open-source apps.

I am not following these claims carefully, but I have seen tons of copies of Lawnchair in the Playstore.

Another recent event that comes to my mind is the Simple apps, which AFAIK they always were open source? But that didn't matter until it got sold and then Fossify was the non shit version of it (the positive side of open source).

Interesting that they ranked Phantom Hourglass as number 1, nowadays it is considered one of the worst Zelda games... And I don't agree at all.

Hi, as soon as I noticed this was a thing I headed to this community to let anyone else know that you can use the newest sort types in the Sync for Lemmy app with that nice workaround... But I just found a lot of "Sink and Sync threads" here that I actually thought the sort bugged my app/feed lol, what a good timing.

Anyway I hope this is useful for you guys until the new update arrives... Soon ^TM

It kinda sucks that my favorite format, handheld is so low compared with the other hardware (yeah, I'm not considering mobile as handheld lol).

    14

I have been noticing it taking longer loads times since today...

Tested using Sync for Lemmy mostly, but also happened with Voyager.

    4

3 hours in the background seems a lot to me.

I started the app clean and configured it from the start (it was a pain in the ass because I migrated my settings from Sync for Reddit lol) and the issue still remains, having this huge background usage prevents my phone from going to deep sleep properly which lends to a bigger battery drain.

EDIT: BTW the issue is gone when I set the app to restricted battery mode instead of optimized... But I'd rather keep it in optimized as it closes less often in the background, that is how I had it with Sync for Reddit, which on average its active background was several minutes only.

    EDIT 2:

This is the process that Battery Guru/BBS says shows

    job/io.syncapps.lemmy_sync/androidx.work.impl.background.systemjob.SystemJobService#9188

This is the app called Franco Kernel Manager, one of the best kernel managers that are out there... Even when it was outdated (which I think that's the cause it got booted from the PlayStore?).

I used it to check the process of my phone and monitor the active and idle drain mostly, I paid for it a long time ago, but now it just fails to check the licence and it doesn't let me use it fully... I think there must be a cracked APK over there...

    EDIT:

Fortunately the app is back in the store and hopefully that update version comes soon enough!

I'm not saying particular genres, we all have our less desired musical genres, I mean music in general.

When I was a child I was very confident to say that I hated music, all kinds, and my cousin used to say that was not possible.

Turns out he was right, and I only hated the teenage music my sister from the 90s used to listen to.

Secretly I enjoyed soundtracks and OSTs from several media, such as animes (digimon openings and battle themes for example) and some TV shows or even videogames.

Then my taste "evolved" and pretty much stayed at rock, heavy metal and alike.

So that little memory lane inspired me to ask about this.
