OpenAI whistleblower Suchir Balaji found dead in San Francisco apartment
  • We’re truly in a dystopian future when big tech nerds are doing mafia hits. Reminds me of that guy in Better Call Saul that hired Mike as a bodyguard.

As ‘Kraven’ Hunts for Audience, Sony's Marvel Universe Takes Final Bow for Now | Analysis
  • Eh I think this is where creative storytelling comes into play. James Gunn managed to make a group of C Listers in Guardians of the Galaxy tell a really compelling trilogy. In fact, I’d bet GOTG’s success is the blueprint Sony is trying to do with these Spidey baddies.

As ‘Kraven’ Hunts for Audience, Sony's Marvel Universe Takes Final Bow for Now | Analysis
  • I’d argue it was a great way to show the immediate effects of “The Batman”. What the trauma of the flooding did to the common people of Crown Point and the power vacuum created by the death of Carmine Falcone. It also setup Penguin’s rise to power which means he will likely play a significant role in the Batman Crime Saga’s future.

From a storytelling point of view, I can absolutely appreciate how the show organically grew the plot and setup Penguin’s roots into Gotham’s underworld.

What online subscriptions do you have?
  • I’m curious why you pirate movies but not music. Seems an odd line to draw?

Ironically enough I do the reverse. I pay for Netflix and pirate music. My reasoning is there are some Netflix programs that are hard to find on the high seas. (Asian films) If they were easy to pirate I would not pay a cent.

What are some self care things you've learned much later in life?
  • The word “No” is such a life-changer and it’s definitely something I learned to apply only recently. I grew up being told to be obedient. Parents demanded it and school enforced it. It made me into a people pleaser and it sucked having to do things that I did not enjoy simply because it was what was expected of me.

I’m still struggling with No but I’ve been trying everyday to keep saying No to things I don’t particularly like.

Let's Encrypt is 10 years old today !
  • I love it when companies are too stubborn to update their costs despite the necessity changing over the years.

My previous employment kept buying microsoft office license keys despite us already moving to 365. They probably did it out of habit when buying new computers. Needless to say I have a cardstack of license keys at home lol. Granted it’s for Office 2013 but I don’t really need the latest version for basic document processing.
