A Qbit you say? Just a bit but quantum 🤷♂️
As fucked up as this is, thanks to these methods we have progressed in many fields. For this instance in particular, fuck Musk, this isn't necessary.
People know what they are getting into when they but this products. Still, they make the surprised Pikachu face when they charge them 1000 for a simple repair.
I understand this is a matter of legislation, but we also need to hold consumers responsible for their stupidity. This isn't a secret, this isn't hidden, everyone knows that Apple Apples.
They don't realize how much they fucked up when they forced users to download the Bing app in order to use GPT in Bing.
They had the perfect chance to hijack Google by making users switch their default search engine in Chrome. But no, they had to get greedy as fuck, and now Bing is dead again.
They went all-in and lost. Who is using Bing search now? Nobody, people want to use Chrome.
I'd have probably used Bing for a longer time and maybe would have gotten used to it (only for GPT) if they hadn't forced me to download their app.
I only get fake prank videos on Facebook. Like the most ridiculous situations. I have no idea why. Whenever I need to go to FB for a legit reason, I just need to close it ASAP before I get the next fake prank video.
They have no idea what my interests are, which is great.
Their product sucks so much that even their hardest monopolistic practices can't prevent people from using Google.
Wouldn't it be better if reverse proxies simply had a "default key" meant to encrypt the SNI after an unencrypted "hello" is received?
Including DNS in this seems weird.
My phones used to be hot all the time, even when idle. 8 years ago when I decided to drop Facebook for good, I noticed my phone was no longer hot. I have no clue what they do in the background, but they are killing your battery.
Now, I always set my phone to battery saving mode to prevent this from happening with other apps. No funny background stuff allowed in my phone.
How can they even find out? You just go down with the other people who paid the direct trip there. Do they keep track somehow?
Are all satellites coordinated in a mesh? If so, that's pretty cool. I thought it was chaotic and they were basically saying like "chances of collision are 0.0001%, send that mofo and good luck".
The real treasure was the torrents we downloaded along the way.
For free? I don't want to repeat the phrase, you know it.
Yeha, that's monopoly talk. I guess I was expecting something else when I read "evil".
I don't really think people are locked-in by any means, there are so many alternatives. People just prefer Google because it provides the best search results and they don't care about privacy. The alternatives are pretty good, but people just want the best. I usually have to go back to Google to query something whenever DDG isn't providing good results.
Before downvoting, at least explain why people are locked-in. Aren't there alternatives to Google? They are definetely creating a horizontal monopoly by acquiring all the companies in the chain, from advertisers to operating systems... but there are alternatives to Google (the search engine). I use DDG everyday, how am I locked-in to Google? I'm not arguing against the monopoly, I'm arguing against the lock-in.
Google- DDG, Swisscows, Qwant
Google Chrome - Mozilla
Google Cloud - DigitalOcean
Android - /e/
Google Phones - Fairphone
Google Meets - Zoom
Google maps - Waze
Google photos - Dropbox
YouTube - Vimeo
I really don't see the lock-in. People just want monopoly-grade service quality without the monopoly. You can't have both.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what is so evil about what was written in the document? To me it just sounded like the guy was bragging about their dominance.
I was about to say.... Isn't using public wifi's extremely dangerous?
People downvoting you clearly don't know that school administration can be into bullying as much as the kids. Talking by experience. I think you can report the images in Instagram by saying you're in them and don't want to be.
The twist keeps the bread thieves away. The equivalent to wearing a blanket as protection against monsters.
For people who value time as much as bread freshness.
I bought an Alexa but I disable the mic. Do they still listen?
I'm used to audio stopping as soon as I switch to another app. Is it possible to do the same with Firefox?
The audio keeps playing, so I have to go back to the app and manually stop the video.
Edit: just realized this also happens if I close the app (not just switching apps). Is this really the desired behavior? I want to give Firefox a shot but I may have to back to DuckDuckGo if this can't be changed :(
Thabks.
I'm currently learning with Duolingo and even though I can read, I've realized I never know which syllable should be accented.
A simple example: みず.
How can I tell if the accent goes on "mi" or "zu"? Is it like English? Like you need to hear the word to know where the accent goes? Or are there rules that let you know just by reading it?
