I love doing critical hits with spears and halberds.
That's it, that's the whole post. I don't care if I would do more damage by switching to a dagger, I want to see two feet of wood and steel sticking out of my opponents chest.
That did always bother me a little bit, that daggers often had super high critical modifiers and damn near nothing else does. What hurts more, a knife in the kidneys, or an 80 pound slab of cast iron slamming your spine in half?
I absolutely adore the variety of weapon styles and animations in this series. It is incredibly satisfying to see the unique animations, one-handed, two-handed, or dual-wielding!
I was just playing Elden Ring, and if you critical with a halberd on an enemy shorter than your character (like the Vulgar Militia) then you shish-kebab the bastard into the ground with your polearm. Highly recommend.
