The real way to fix this is to have the government make competing generic medications. They should be used to supply the armed forces and offered to anyone as a competing med to drive prices down. It would also be useful for filling meds no one wants to manufacture anymore because they aren’t “profitable”.
The real way to fix this is to do like every civilised country does and have the government be the monopoly that pharmaceutical companies need to deal with. When you've got one buyer you take the price they offer and shut the fuck up.

The US government spends more per capita in healthcare than any other country, you should be glad they're getting a better price on medications, that's money that can be spent elsewhere, including the "community centers" (you're talking about nursing homes) you pretend to care about.
Listen that needs work too, but this is about negotiating lower drug prices, not holistic medical care changes. Something like that would need some significant legislation with significant bipartisan support.
And that is one thing that the Republicans are absolutely not going to do for the Biden administration in an election year (if ever).
