Michigan isn't afraid to throw hands with neighboring states. They won the Toledo War, gaining the UP from Wisconsin Territory, and sticking Ohio with Toledo.

Wisconsin is too busy being drunk and eating cheese. They have everything they want. There is nothing the UP has to offer except for some prime spots to fish.
