I disagree. I would classify this as more of a branch than a stick.

Apparently not. Twigs are still attached to the tree and are also flexible. Sticks are detached and dry, so they are not flexible.
That means if a branch or twig falls off the tree, it isn't immediately a stick! It has to dry out a bit, and then it's a stick! God damn. We really have words to differentiate anything and everything. 😮
- Actually, by virtue of it not being attached to the tree anymore after it has fallen, it no longer is a twig even if it hasn’t fully dried up yet. So until it has fully dried, it’s in a state where it’s both twig and stick. A twick if you will.
