Brussels to push ahead with enforcing digital rules on Big Tech groups but with low financial penalties for breaches

Is this community dedicated to a steamer or a game?
It misses a picture and it doesn't have any description, so I'm kinda confused? I joined it thinking it was about a streamer, because there's !destiny@lemmy.world already, but honestly I'm unsure
What Next?
With Daima coming to an end, there isn't much content related to Dragon Ball coming out. I don't want to let this community wither away, so I'd like some input about what you guys would be interested in
I'm not great at keeping up with gaming news, so I didn't even know they are releasing Daima DLC for Kakarot until someone told me recently. I will try to do better at staying aware of all things Dragon Ball so I can post it here
I personally enjoyed the Daima discussion threads, and feel a bit of a void now that it is over. Would anybody want to participate in a weekly episode starting with the beginning of Dragon Ball, or a weekly manga chapter also starting at the beginning?
If you guys ever make some Dragon Ball art, or pick up some sweet merch, please share with us. We are all here because of our love for Dragon Ball, and I want to enjoy these things with you
If you have any other ideas or input, please let me know here. I am all ears and op
Can the bot be modified to add YT URL as links (not as text) and to programmatically extract thumbnails?
IMO, it would make the bot more helpful and make the community looks less messy.

The EU is set to impose minimal fines on Apple and Facebook owner Meta next week under its Digital Markets Act, as Brussels seeks to avoid escalating tensions with US President Donald Trump.
According to people familiar with the decisions, the iPhone-maker is expected to be fined and ordered to revise its App Store rules, following an investigation into whether they prevent app developers from sending consumers to offers outside its platform.
Regulators will also close another investigation into Apple, which was focused on the company’s design of its web browser choice screen without any further sanctions.

How do you know who performed the mod actions?
This has been bugging me for a while, and I don't know where else to really ask (this feels like the best place for this specific question); but how do you know what mod did what in the modlog? I've rarely ever seen the modlog actually state what mod/admin performed the action. Can get the user of the comment and even the undeleted text of their comment if it's a comment removal; does not show the mod/admin who actually handled it.
Just noticed a comment was removed for "not crossing the line but close to violating the TOS" and I wanna talk to whoever pulled that dumbass shit. I don't think it's a power trip to make a "report" about it here, I just wanna know what the fuck kind of stupid bullshit reasoning that is and the modlog does not show who the moderator that removed it was.
Hall of Fame geniale Namen (laufend aktualisiert)
A unix_surrealist is asking for urgent monetary help
Sorry for writing all of this in one go, but I felt like this was so urgent I needed to say all of this before I go to bed (it is late where I live). So, in true surrealist fashion, here goes my stream of conciousness.
I'm pretty much talking about this post where mods of another Lemmy community say that jawa21 is asking for money because she doesn't have enough money to pay for her fine. If this sounds fishy, here's another mod of that community explaining a few more details.
If you don't have time to read that, here's the TLDR: jawa21 has been arrested and forced to pay a fine for arsoning (nobody knows if she actually did it, but that's not the point). She already did her jail time, but she doesn't have enough money to pay the 1k$ fine (she says she just has 40$ right now), so she will face even more jail time if no one helps her through this. She lives in the US, and as most of us already kno

This is just too perfect of a community not to post....
Community feedback sought on our proposed adoption of a new posting requirement: Providing alternative text with every post and comment that includes videos, GIFs or images
We now require alternative text (from now to referred to as "alt text") to be added to all posts/comments containing media, such as images, animated GIFs, videos, audio files, and custom emojis.
EDIT: For files you share in the comments, a simple summary should be enough if they’re too complex.
We are committed to social equity and to reducing barriers of entry, including (digital) communication and culture. It takes each of us only a few moments to make a whole world of content (more) accessible to a bunch of folks.
When alt text is absent, a reminder will be issued. If you don't add the missing alt text within 48 hours, the post will be removed. No hard feelings.
If there are no clear and valid objections from the community, we will fully adopt the requirement in a week or so.
We require alternative text (from now referred to as "alt text") to be
The mod of this community has been inactive for half a year - time to find new ones?
I tried reaching the mod a week ago to update this community's sidebar, but they haven't answered, and apparently haven't been active/posted anything in half a year. Do we need to contact the ani.social admins to find a new one? (any volunteers?)
!communitypromo@lemmy.ca can be interesting as well
This community just reached 1000 monthly active users!
Thank you everyone who posts, comments or votes
Updated related communities
Just an fyi for everyone. I've updated the related communities section in the sidebar. The following have been added:

Please check out these communities if you're interested.
Last post was 26 days ago, !television@lemm.ee is a more active community
Vote for new Icon for the community
@fujiwood@lemmy.world suggested that we should update our community icon. It was discussed here: https://discuss.online/post/16967486 , and some suggestions were provided.
Now, the time for suggestions is over. I am going to make a top level comments for each option. You can vote whichever one you like the most.
In a few days (or a week) we will choose the icon with most votes.
Note: Do not make a new comment in this post, any new comment posted will be removed. You can only vote.
Is the Egg Prime Directive being invoked too often?
Quoting the rule from the community for reference:
- You must follow the Egg Prime Directive. You may not push or coerce people into identifying or not identifying a certain way. You must respect them as the gender they claim to identify as. In addition it is extremely in poor taste to make assumptions about other people’s identities based on external factors, we understand it cannot be helped but it is best not to as it can affect the way you treat others in noticeable ways.
Honestly, I've been anxious about this for a while, not sure if or how to bring this up. I understand the importance of the rule when it involves real people. But I've been seeing comics and memes getting criticized of breaking the Directive a couple of times now. But aren't they just being shared from the creator's perspective? Making fun of their own experience, such as, looking back, pointing out how obvious things seemed? When you see any other comic making fun of some situation, that doesn't mean that a
